Ugh, still nothing? Damn it what am I going to do?
It was a Tuesday, I of course had a new job but I still felt useless. I don't know why.
I was sitting in a burger place, eating lunch alone. I was used to being alone and knew I would have to manage living like that for the rest of my life.
Living without a mark sucks alot.
I was scrolling on my phone, just trying to pass the time. I guess I was just anxious waiting for a mission from Aurora Defense, I've been really eager to use my power.
Mostly because I don't use it much anymore.
Out of nowhere I hear a bell by the door ring. I notice two familiar people walking into the restaurant.
It was Celina and Fiora. I assumed they were here for lunch too.
I overheard them talking to each other "The worst he could say is no Fiora, besides its very unlikely. You're a likeable person." I heard Celina say to her friend.
Oh shit, she must have a crush on somebody at school or Salvus, if it's Salvus then she's going to find bad news because he has weird types.
I finish my food and pay for it and tip the waiter, I leave and make my way to a coffee shop.
I order a latte and sit by the window, I had a book on me about motor racing so I went on ahead and reading it.
I know it doesn't sound like I'm an introvert but I'm actually just doing a habit lately to force myself out of the house or I'll be an unfunctional member of society.
I took a sip and opened the book, I began to read.
Before I knew it I was four chapters in.
I decided to put the book down for a minute to give myself a break. I took another sip of coffee and I noticed that those two were in the coffee shop now.
That's interesting, I never even told Celina about the places I usually visit for lunch and coffee.
But then, I foresaw a social situation coming towards me.
Fiora walked up towards me and mumbled "H-hi."
"Oh hey! What's up?" I directed my attention towards her.
She must be here to ask me about Salvus.
"I have a question to ask you." She sat down.
"Salvus is currently at an interview at Black Systems, but he told me you weren't his type so if your asking about him don't bother." I blanlty said to her, just trying not to waste her time.
"Salvus? No no no this is not about him." She shook her head.
"Oh good, sure what's up?"
"I don't know if Celina ever told you but I'm kind of looking for a boyfriend so..."
"If your asking for dating advice, I'm the last person on Earth to ask that." I told her.
"No, that's not what I wasn't going to ask either." She looked a bit nervous but also a little annoyed.
I look over and I see Celina giving me a thumbs up.
I gave her a confused face back.
What the actual fuck is going on?! Are they selling drugs or some shit?!
Ah yes, the fabled introvert.
"No um I was going to ask you if you'd like to go out with me sometime?" She had a cheesy expression on her face.
Oh shit.
"Nope." I got up and immediately left the coffee shop. Sure rather rudely but I had to get my point across.
She caught up behind me. "That was rude! Why not? Is it me or-"
"It's nothing wrong with you, it's me." I said that age old sentence though this time I actual meant it. "You see you've got a mark and I don't. You SHOULD go and find your soulmate somewhere else. I ain't it Fiora." I explained myself and tried to keep walking.
"But what if you are my soulmate? Maybe you have a mark hidden somewhere like-"
"What my ass?"
"You're being awfully rude, you didn't have to snap at me!"
"I'm sorry, look you just can't. Alright? I don't want to take you away from someone else. You are someone else's" I shrugged.
"You don't know that."
"Stop asking."
"Why?"
Damn it, if she had no fucking mark or if I fucking did I would easily say yes but instead I'm in this fucking situation.
"I thought I told you why, you don't seem to take no to answer." I sighed. I took one last sip of my coffee and threw it away.
"Well I'd usually take no for answer but I don't know that doesn't seem right. I don't know but I have this gut feeling."
"Maybe I'm just an obstacle in your way of your real lover." I sighed and tried to get out of the situation. "Again no."
She looked she had gotten an idea. "What if you are necessary obstacle? What if I need you to find my supposed 'real' one or my soulmate is just a friend or something?"
Never in the history of ever, did someone push as hard as she is. There's gotta be a reason why or this must be a prank?
"Tell you what." I decided on a solution. "I'll agree to go out with you BUT if you do find whoever he is I fully 100% expect you to dump me and go with your destined person instead alright?" I eventually realized she wouldn't take no for an answer, period. Strange considering she puts herself off as this shy timid person.
I also was kind of expecting her to say. "Prank."
But at this point I don't think so.
"OK, I can do that. I probably won't but fine I understand." She smiled.
My shoulders relaxed and I breathed. "OK cool."
There was an awkward pause there. "So, you wanna meet up tomorrow for dinner? I had an idea of this place that you might like-
What the fuck have I done, this entire fucking goes against everything I stand for.
-I asked Celina what you liked and so anyways I decided on a Mexican restaurant. You know something casual." She finished talking.
"Sure, totally um what time do you want me to be there?" I asked.
"Can you do 4 or 5:30?" She asked.
"I can do four, if you're OK with that."
"Yeah totally!" She gave me a thumbs up. "This is going to be so great, you won't regret this!"
Girl I'm four parallel universes ahead of you already.
