Chapter 23 - Big ass tree demon

I continue to follow the party through the dungeon.

They reach the secret entrance and climb up it with help from Elijah.

And the y finally reach the lava room.

And damm is it hot in here. I'm off to the side behind some rocks while the group makes their way towards the middle of the room.

Eventually the weird worm beast shows up and starts another battle.

Lucas is of course incompetent during this fight. Only making good moves when ordered by Arthur.

And then the heat wave hits. Fire doesn't really affect me when I have my guard up. Mainly because training to use plasma up close has made me very good at deflecting heat.

And there is the first dead. I don't even remember your name.

They get the Mana beast in the end. And hey one dead soul ain't too bad....

I'm definitely a psychopath.

And finally they reach the Hidden Garden of Death ™. It is really foggy in here. I know it's illusion magic but it's still cool.

Oh hey look the fat one is seeing his dead wife. Hehe loser who would ever fall in love, not me that's for sure.

The vines are coming out now. Lucas makes a smart play for once with his napalm spell.

And here comes Elijah with the assist! He passes it to Note for the finish! And the big reveal! And Boom! Elder guardian!

You can see the exact moment that they realize that they are fucked.

Now it's blondies turn to go crazy and attack the newly discovered S-Class Beast.

Man I wish I could join, it would be so much fun to test my power!

And here comes Lucas with the totally unexpected betrayal of the century. Arthur's now down and things are looking desperate.

Hmmmm I have an idea but it can wait a few minutes, I want to see the final fireworks!

A sudden overwhelming pressure pushes down on me

"Let's play"

Darn.... That was cool.

White fire forms within Arthur's hand and bursts forth to freeze the beast.

Then Black lightning starts to be created around him and is launched forward.

The frozen Elder wood guardian shatters.

Arthur falls.

Eh he will be fine.......

I have to run, I have to live. I'm more important than those savages.

I'm from the prestigious Wykes family and they are all commoners. It will be a honor for them to die and allow me to escape.

I finally exit the god forsaken secret passage way that bumbling augmenter brought us into.

Yes just a bit further past these Beasts should be the entrance.

Where are all the mana beasts? They should have been resurrected by now but all I see is dust and ash?

"Ahhh! Who's there!"

I frantically look around the cavern to see nothing. Not a single person the voice could have come from.

Then from behind

"No one important in the grand scheme of things. After all I'm just trying to live my life"

Where is this voice coming from?!?!

"Show yourself! Then help me out of here! If you do I will reward you greatly"

A haunting giggle echos around me.

"Like you rewarded your party members?"

The voice is just next to me ear.

I turn around so fast that I almost fall.

There in-front of me is a girl no older than 17, nearly 5'7 in height with hair that's fades from red to yellow.

"N-no of-f course not! I would... I would reward you with a grand amount of gold from the Wykes family for your help!"

"No. I think I have a better idea"
