Eleven
Jade was gently shaken awake by Jordan, who told her that she needed to fasten her seatbelt because the plane was about to land. She did so sleepily and waited patiently for the plane to touch down in Australia.
Despite the urgency of the situation, Jade couldn't help being excited to be in a foreign country for the first time. She stayed close to Jordan, somehow making their way around customs, as neither of them had actually payed for the plane.
Once outside the airport, Jordan checked the slip of paper that Lela had written the man's name and address on. "Okay," He said, "We need another car and this time, I get to choose."
Jade scoffed and followed Jordan as he made his way towards a parking lot down the busy street. In the end, Jordan chose a white Lexus and the two went on their way.

The heat was stifling. Jade could have sworn she'd sweated out at least half her body weight. It was the middle of summer in Australia, and summers down under were hotter than anywhere Jade had known. "God, I feel like I'm about to melt." Jordan complained from behind the wheel.
The air conditioner in the car was broken and even the air pouring through the windows was hot. Jade and Jordan were currently stopped in a small city, where they were getting the air con fixed. "Do we have money for more suitable clothes?" Jade asked.
Jordan lazily shook his head, his sweat dampened hair flat against his forehead. "We spent the last of it on getting the AC repaired."
Jade sighed. "How do you feel about shoplifting?"
Jordan shrugged and pointed to a Big W store not far away.

Jordan was watching Jade with awe. They were standing across the road from the Big W in shorts and tank tops, Converses on their feet and sipping bottles of cool water. "How'd you get so good at that?" He asked her.
Jade shrugged. "For a while after I fell, I didn't have anything, so I had to live on the streets, work two jobs and steal to keep myself alive. Especially steal."
Jordan simply nodded and took another swig of his water, checking his new watch. "It's three thirty; the car should be ready by now."
Jade nodded and they walked back to the garage, picked up the car and took off in the heat once again.
They drove for close to four hours before coming to a stop outside a rundown looking farm house surrounded by barren fields. There was a beaten up Toyota pickup truck in the gravel driveway and one of the windows in the house was a piece of cardboard.
Jade was uneasy as she stared at the dilapidated building. "Are you sure this guy's going to be able to help us? If he even lives here."
Jordan shrugged, "If Lela says he can, I say we should at least check it out."
Jade sighed but got out of the Lexus. "I just hope she's right."
