Sixteen
"Lela, to what do I owe the pleasure?" Asked the woman in the real estate building, Mason Hale.
"We need some help, Mase." Said Lela. Jade could see from the look on her face that Lela was nervous. She wasn't sure that Mason would help them.
"Why can't you ever be simply seeking my company?" Mason asked, taking on a false air of offence. "I thought you loved me?"
"I'm sorry, but we really do need a favour." Lela told her.
"Why, what's up?"
"Well, you know how I told you that I'm an angel?" Mason nodded. "Well so are these guys, but where I left Heaven of my own accord, they had their wings ripped off and were thrown."
Mason gasped in surprise. "So what do you need?" She asked.
"We need somewhere to house around seven hundred people." Jordan spoke up from beside Jade, his hand wrapped firmly around hers.
"Why so many?" Mason asked, disbelief colouring her voice.
"We need them to rise up against Heaven in a rebellion." Jade explained. She saw Mason's eyes widen but the woman brightened almost immediately.
"I think I have just the place!" She exclaimed, "Come with me."

The group drove for close to an hour before the car came to a stop in front of what seemed to be an old apartment building. When Mason took the three through the front door, Jade saw that it had been stripped on the inside.
When the tour concluded, Jade decided that this building would be perfect for what they would need it for. After two months of hard work, the building was ready and Jade took residence in one of the rooms.
Darren practically lived in the basement, which was used for training and Lela kept the tower spotless and the group's stomachs full. Before long, they were planning who they would go to first.
One evening, Jade stepped out of her hot shower to a knock on her door. As she dressed and dried her hair, she missed the company of Malice. Before leaving for Australia six months ago, she and Jordan had taken Malice to the lost animals' home and dropped him off on their doorstep.
She missed her little kitten. She pulled back the door to reveal Jordan, freshly showered and tired looking. Without a word Jade stepped forward and wrapped her arms around his neck. She kissed him passionately, walking backwards into the room. Jordan groaned into her mouth, expressing his pure, raw need to hold her, to love her.
Jade smiled against his lips when she felt his hands in her long hair, pulling the band out and letting it fall over her shoulders. When they finally broke apart, Jade was breathless and happy. She dragged Jordan to her bed and together they slept.
