Thirty
Jade was slightly relieved to get out of America for Christmas. Going back to Australia would allow her to regain the tan she had grown rather fond of, and she never did care for the cold.
When all four hundred and eighty-three Fallen were piled into the rental cars, they set off on the long journey to Coober Pedy. Jade climbed into a car with Riley, Aiden, Mikayla and Luke. Jade was nervous. It was a seven hour drive and after their kiss in the elevator, Jade had been unsure as to how to act around him.
She knew she still had feelings for Jordan, and she couldn't simply ignore them. The conflict of her heart was exhausting and worrying, so Jade focused on other things. Such as the looming event. The Fallen were headed for a large music festival, where Jade would announce to the world the existence of angels and the nonexistence of their precious 'God.'
She knew it would require a reaction from the officials in Heaven. She'd witnessed a clean-up once before. She only hoped she wasn't making a very big mistake.

Around four hours into the journey, the convoy stopped for a short break at a roadhouse. Jade enjoyed stretching her legs and revelled in the brief period of cool from the air conditioner in the roadhouse. Everyone else was outside, Jade was alone in the shop.
Until Luke opened the door and entered. Jade stifled a sigh. She retreated to the bathroom until he left. She was taken by surprise when the door opened behind her and Luke rushed in, taking her in his arms and kissing her eagerly.
At first Jade attempted to push him off her, but she soon gave in to the desire coursing through her. She wrapped her around him, needing him infinitely closer. Luke slowly pushed her backwards, never breaking the kiss, until her back was against the wall. His hands moved over her waist and hips, setting Jade's body on fire.
Luke ran his hands down Jade's body and over her thighs, hoisting her up to wrap her legs around his waist. She knew she needed to stop, but she couldn't bring herself to pull away. The feeling of raw passion building inside her was too strong to be ignored. She knew it was wrong, but she needed this. Needed him. Needed Luke.
~*~
Luke watched as Jade ran away from him into the bathroom at the roadhouse. For a reason he couldn't place, he couldn't bear to see her walk away from him. He wanted her to be desperate for him. He followed her, throwing the door open and pulling her into his arms, kissing her with every ounce of emotion he had.
He could feel her weak attempts to push him off her, but he could tell that wasn't what she really wanted. He was proven to be right when she gave in and wrapped her arms around him. He loved the feeling of her body on his and took pleasure in the fact that Jade was pulling him closer.
He wasn't sure exactly how, but Jade's legs ended up around his waist and they were kissing heatedly, taking in every inch of each other. When the two finally pulled away, Luke sighed, knowing he needed to stop this. It wasn't what he came here to do. But he couldn't deny that Jade was far too tempting for him to resist. He had never wanted anyone so considerably in his twenty-five years of life.
He was desperate for her.
