Dominic's POV

I push my glasses up my face as I gather my things from my locker. I know I have Animal Science in fourth period so I need that book plus I need my textbook for Business...

"Hey, dork!" Oh no, not now. It's just the beginning of the school day. Soon, my locker gets shut and I get pushed into it. I meet the eyes of my high school bully and soon-to-be Alpha, Knight. He thinks that just because he will be Alpha, he gets to do whatever he wants and bully the weak and the nerdy. Unfortunately, because he is going to be Alpha, there's nothing anyone can do about it.

"What do you need, Knight?" I ask softly.

"Did you do my homework for fourth period?" I nod and pull his assignment out from my bag. He snatches it from me and grabs the front of my shirt. I gulped, waiting for the impact of his fist.

"I better get an A plus on this assignment or else, I'm going to gut you like a fish." I nod my head and he throws me against the lockers hard. He just laughed at me and walked away with his buddies.

"What a fucking loser," Randolf sneered.

"Right? He's lucky we have football practice later today or his ass would be grass," Joss commented.

I sigh deeply. When will this stop? I see a hand reach out to me and I look up to see my best friends from kindergarten, Drakkon, and Damien. We all bonded over the fact that our names started with a D. I will never forget the day when they both stood up for me when Knight would not leave me alone. Jesus, I think the guy has some sort of obsession with me because I didn't shift at 16 like every other werewolf. I don't know why I am a late bloomer but it is what it is. But anyway, Drakkon and Damien stood up for me and I will never forget that day.

I grab Drakkon's hand and he helped me up.

"You good?" I nod my head.

"Yeah, nothing that I'm not already used to." Damien sighed and shook his head.

"You really need to go to the Alpha about this. You know he will do something about his son." I just give Drakkon a stare and shake my head.

"And be even further on his shit list? No way. I'd rather deal with this than go to our Alpha." Drakkon sighs.

"How are you so stubborn?" I just shrug.

"I was born this way. Come on, we have P.E. next." Damien waves to us as he leaves for Animal Science. Drakkon and I make our way to the locker room to change for the gym. It's just a simple uniform with a white shirt, red shorts, and some white shoes. Most of the guys in the class like to go shirtless. Not me. I'm not ashamed of my body but I'm not as ripped as everyone else. We make our way out to the class and stand in front of the teacher.

"All right! Since it is a scorcher out here today, I think we should have some fun and have a water balloon fight." Everyone cheered loudly at the thought. Even I cracked a smile. This should be fun.

"Over in the corner, I have about 2000 water balloons. One for the girls, one for the guys. We're gonna go against one another. The last gender standing doesn't have to run the 6-mile field test. Now, when I blow the whistle, run towards your bucket and go nuts. No headshots and no low blows!" The whistle blows and everyone books it towards the buckets and soon, balloons start flying. The girls are squealing and giggling, the guys are trying to get the girls wet. The one thing I have going for me is that I am pretty nimble. I see different balloons coming my way but I easily sidestep them all. Drakkon comes running, not wet yet.

"Dude, how are you so nimble?" He asks.

"No idea but it's working out for us, isn't it?" He laughs and ducks an incoming balloon.
