*A couple of days later*

Brooklyn's POV

I was completely losing my mind. A lot has happened in the last few hours. Number one, after a little session in my bedroom, I went to write and found out my notebook was missing. My backpack was opened and it must have fallen out. I have searched high and low for it. I just hope no one opens what I write in there. Number two, after noticing I lost the notebook, I walked into the bathroom and noticed something I had never noticed before. A birthmark on the side of my neck. That's weird, I don't remember having a birthmark like this but whatever. And the third thing that happened was not even 15 minutes again.

*Flashback*

I was freaking out a little, more like a lot when I couldn't find my notebook. I think someone must have picked it up already. I just pray that someone doesn't read it.

'Hey, Brooklyn!' I turned at the sound of my name. I managed to keep my heart from beating out of its chest when I saw that it was Rhys.

'Oh, hello,' I greet.

'Hey. Um, listen, I was just wondering something. Are you doing anything tomorrow?' He asks.

'Um, no, not really. Why?'

'Well, my mom wants me to come to a dinner party tomorrow and said I needed to bring a date. So, would you be my date to the dinner party?' Fuck, did he just ask me to come with him to the palace?! Holy fuck!

'Oh, this is unexpected. I wouldn't know what to wear,' I say.

'We can go shopping for dresses. I can help you choose something today and then set you up with my mom's hairstylist and makeup artist,' he offered.

'No, I can't ask you to do that. That's way too much.' He then grabbed my hand.

'You're not. I'm offering.' His gaze locked in on mine and I almost melted.

'Well, if you're sure you want to take me, then...'

'Great! I'll meet you by the gates after school today.' He kissed my cheek and ran off. I brought my hand to my cheek as my face went red.

*Flashback over*

Okay, okay. Deep breaths. Deep breaths. I couldn't stop my fingers from weaving together. As I approached the gate, he was staring at his phone. He's just scrolling on his phone. Why the fuck is that attractive?! The tap of my shoes alerted him to look my way. He smiled his brilliant smile and my heart just went thump, thump.

"Hey, I'm glad you're coming with me to this. Usually, my mom chooses a date for me but I had to beg her to let me choose someone," he tells me as he escorts me to his car. He opened the passenger's door for me, and I silently thanked him. He got in the driver's seat and turned to me.

"Are you ready to go?"

"Yeah. Where are we going?" I ask him.

"Just to the mall. They have a nice dress shop that my mom likes to frequent. We'll find the perfect dress for you."

"I can't wait."

****************************

We walked into the store and it was bigger than I was expecting. There were two floors of dresses upon dresses. It's crazy but every single one of them was so beautiful. A sales lady comes up to us, smiling.

"Ah, Rhys. Lovely to see you again. Did your mom drag you to go dress shopping again?"

"Ha, not this time. I called earlier about getting the upper level all to ourselves," Rhys tells her.
