Amara's POV

I knock on the door and Regina opens up.

"Hey, Amara. Come on in, sweetie." I walked into the family home that they could buy back when they moved back here. Everything was the same as it was when I was younger. The large living room, huge sectional, family photos all over, and a big bowl of candy on the coffee table. I wander over to the table and smile when I see my all-time favorite candy, Skittles! I will never, ever, ever, turn down a bag of Skittles. I'm surprised it didn't become my nickname. I open up the bag and I hear Regina chuckling.

"I knew you would go for the Skittles. Liliana is already in the kitchen, waiting to be your taste tester." I giggle at the excited nature of my best friend. I walked into the kitchen and she was sitting at the counter, a napkin around her neck and a fork in her hand.

"I'm at your service, baking goddess!" She declares. I laugh at her and shake my head.

"Oh, stop. I'm okay. So, I will make three different dishes, all of which will involve chocolate. First, a chocolate mousse cake with raspberry filling. Then, chocolate cinnamon cupcakes with cinnamon buttercream. And last, homemade chocolate chili ice cream." I look back at Liliana and she is drooling.

"Yes. Yes, I will marry you." I throw my head back and laugh.

"Sounds good?" She nods eagerly. "Great, let's get started."

I gathered all of my ingredients and started on the ice cream since it needed a good time to freeze.

"So, how are things with your love life?" Liliana asks. I turn to look at her with raised brows.

"I've told you. One, I'm busy with the competition, and two, no guy has caught my eye like..." I trail off since she knows what I am going to say. Or rather who I'm going to say.

"I don't know why you guys never tried anything. Well, I know your reasoning." I sigh and nod.

"Yeah, I know. I wish I could tell him that I have been in love with him for years. But it is so hard to do, Lils. Especially with the fact that there are many more beautiful girls in his path, he's never going to take a second glance at me." She sighs.

"I swear, when it comes to feelings, you and my brother are fucking clueless." I chose to ignore that comment and continue with my baking.

*3 desserts later*

I put the last finishing touches on the cake and I step back to admire it.
