Samael's POV
*20 minutes later*
After listening to the house band for 20 minutes, I head back into the bar and look for that skinny kid. Where is he? I told him I would be back at the bar when he said he got off. I felt a presence behind me and I turn to see it was him.
"I'll be honest, I didn't think you would be here when I got off. I thought you were just pulling my leg," he admits.
"I would never. I genuinely want to get to know you so why don't we leave the bar and go someplace a little quieter," I suggest.
"What about your friend? Wouldn't it mean to ditch him?" I snort and point to my friend who has his tongue halfway down a girl's throat. He then turns to her friend and makes out with her. He blushes at the sight before him.
"He is not thinking about me. He'll be fine. Shall we...? " He smiled and held out his hand.
"Derek." I shake his hand and I felt a warmth that I'd never felt before. It was comforting and I wanted more.
"Samuel." I did send a mental note to Dracul but I don't think he cares. We leave the bar and began walking down the street. All of the bars are lively and filled with a bunch of people ready to get drunk or they are already drunk.
" So, I've seen you twice already and this is the first time we have had contact." He furrows his brows and purses his lips.
"You've seen me twice? Where?"
"Me and my friend, Drago, are going to the U of A and I saw you walking around on campus today," I explain.
"Oh, I see. Yeah, this is my 3rd year. I recently turned 21 and I've been working at the bar since I was 18," he explains.
"Sounds like you love it there," I note as we continue to walk.
"Absolutely. I love that bar and everyone in it. They are good to me and they celebrated my birthday with me. Since it was over spring break, we were able to get piss drunk. It was the best."He looked so good right now. I don't know why I am so enamored with him. If he just wanted to talk all night, I would totally be okay with that.
"Have you eaten yet?" I ask. He shakes his head.
"Not recently. It's been a couple of hours." I look up and see we were about to pass an Italian restaurant called Caruso's.
"Let's stop and have some dinner. We can continue our riveting conversation." He chuckles and nods.
"Sounds good." We walk into the restaurant and the hostess smiles at us. Well, more like me.
"Hi there, hot stuff. Table for two?" She asks in what she thinks is a sultry tone but it is doing nothing for me right now.
"Yes. For me and my date." Derek blushed and the hostess's face fell. She clears her throat and goes back to being professional.
"Right this way." We follow her to a table that's in a far corner where no one can see us and that's fine with me.
"Your server will be right with you." She walks off and Derek can't contain his laughter for long.
"Did you see the look on her face? She looked so defeated." I laughed with him and nodded.
"It's like this every time I go out. Some girl thinks I'm so hot and then gets so disappointed when they find out I'm gay." His eyes widened slightly.
"Oh, you are actually gay." I raise an eyebrow and nod.
"Yes, I am. Is that an issue?" He shook his head vigorously.
