Looks like Cancer is our next zodiac sign! So, here's the thing with Cancer. They are deeply intuitive and sentimental, making them one of the most challenging signs to get to know. They are highly emotional and sensitive and prioritize matters related to family and home. Those born with their Sun in Cancer are very loyal and empathetic to the pain and suffering of others. So, it makes sense that their Goddess is Artemis. Artemis, the goddess of the hunt and the moon, resonates with Cancer's intuitive and protective nature. Just as Artemis watches over the wilderness, Cancers fiercely guard their loved ones while embracing their empathetic and emotional qualities. And their superpower is healing. Again, makes sense.

*Warning: Since Artemis is a Virgin Goddess, there will not be any smut in this one. Just a nice wholesome story.*

Amaris Luna Taracon, the reincarnation of Artemis.

Amaris' POV

I aimed my arrow high, keeping a close eye on the target. With a deep breath and swift huff, I let the arrow go and it hit near the bullseye, not perfectly on it. I put my bow down and huffed.

"Wow, you are an arrow master!" I turned to see my best friend, Sage, and I smiled.

"Thanks. I have to live up to my Goddess's name." I became the reincarnation of Artemis and I knew she was a virgin goddess which is fine with me because I am asexual. I have no desire to be with anyone at all. Now, my brother on the hand is a whore. There's no two ways to describe it. I have to live with him and his random hook-ups. It would be nice if he would finally settle down with a nice girl but he wants to be a rockstar so groupies come with the territory. Well, he kinda is. He's the lead singer and guitarist of a band and they are gaining popularity. They should be going on tour soon but haven't confirmed anything.

"That's true. So, are you ready for the Archery competition on Friday?"

"As ready as I'll ever be. I'm good as long as I keep a steady head on my shoulders and no one bothers me." She nods at me and I finish off my practice.

*Later*

I open the door and I hear music playing. I roll my eyes; my brother's being a hoe again. I have noise-canceling headphones, thank god, so I won't have to listen to that...shit. I set my shit down and go into the kitchen, making myself a sandwich. I don't have any issues with him bringing a girl home, but maybe make sure I am going to be gone for a while so I don't walk in on hearing it.

After I made my sandwich, the music stopped and I sighed in relief. Thank God, he's done. I stand in the kitchen, eating my sandwich, and I hear the door open.

"Mmm, that was so good. So, when can I expect another round?" The girl purred.

"Never. You know me. You knew what I was about before you got in bed with me," my brother, Dorian, tells her.

"But, I thought..."

"You would be different? Hah, sweetheart, no one can change me. Now, get out." The girl started to cry, called him an asshole, and rushed out of the apartment. He sighed and fixed his hair.

"You know, you are an asshole," I comment. He scoffs.

"I don't care. These girls know what I am about before they get into bed with me. I'm not here for a relationship. Especially with the tour coming up."

"Oh, wow! It's finally happening?" I ask as he walks into the kitchen.

"Yes, finally! I am so excited. The guys and I have been waiting for this forever!" He pours a glass of water and fills the kettle with it for some tea.

"I'm so happy for you. Do you know when you leave?"

"This Monday. So, I'll be here for your competition and then I have to pack up over 6 months' worth of stuff." My eyes widened.

"Whoa! So, where did you end up deciding to tour?"

"We decided on the main city lines. So, we start here in LA, then move on to Phoenix, Albuquerque, etc."

"That's so cool. I'm super proud of you. I will be in the front row at your concert, cheering louder than anyone else." He smiles at me and kisses my forehead.

"Thanks, kid. But you will be backstage and I'll be waiting for a hug once I get off stage." I smiled and hugged him. I know he's a whore and everything, but he's my twin brother and I would do anything for him. Except be his wingwoman.

*Friday*

"Welcome to the 54th Annual Archery Competition! We have welcomed 10 national champions from around the world to showcase their wonderful talent in archery! Let's welcome them!" Everyone was announced one by one until they got to me. "And representing us here in Los Angeles, California, Miss Amaris Taracon!" I hear my brother and my best friend clap and cheer the hardest for me. I had to keep a straight face but was so happy inside. They're so cute.

Soon, the competition began. The first five competitors complete 3 rounds of difficulty. Whoever has the most points at the end of each round will move to the final shootout. So, I watch as one person, Melinda Figure, who is my biggest competitor takes her shots. She has a very calm composure as she gets a perfect shot every round. My eyes widened at that. Damn, she's good. Even I can't get a perfect shot every time. Man, this is going to be hard.

After the first five finished, Melinda finished by miles ahead. She kneels in the corner, her face is as stoic as ever. Okay, just breathe. Remember who you are.

I was up next for the first round and I clutched my bow in my hand. I took a deep breath and pulled back. I closed my eyes and focused my energy into my bow. With a sharp exhale, I let go of the arrow and it hit right in the middle. Even I was shocked. Wow, this is only the second time I have hit the bullseye.

*1 hour later*

It was intermission and I made it to the final. This is so exciting! Okay, I just have to beat Melinda and I will be good. I can do this. I unwrapped my hand wraps and they were a little blistered. I rummaged through my bag and took a special concoction I made for healing purposes. In addition to being the reincarnation of Artemis, I have the power of healing. Most of my healing products are homemade and they work like magic. I squirted some on my hands and rubbed them together. Within a minute, they were feeling much better. I rewrapped my hands and headed back out there. Melinda was already set up. We made eye contact and I nodded at her, a sign of good luck. She nods back and we get the competition back started.

In the final, there are five rounds. The one who has the most will win. It's that simple. Melinda was first and she got a perfect bullseye. Then, it was me, and continued until the final shot. She took a step and focused on her breathing. Just then, I hear a loud dog's bark. I looked over and saw two Border Collies, staring at us. When did they get here? Then, a gasp befalls the crowd. I looked back at Melinda and she was off. She did not hit a bullseye! Whoa! I stood up and took my pace. Come on, Amaris. You can do this. One more shot. Just one more.

I readied myself and focused on the target. I pulled my arm back. Everyone was silent. There was not a breath that could be heard. Just the sound of my pounding heart. With a sharp exhale, I let the arrow go. It went flying and I swear, it was in slow motion. The arrow landed directly in the middle and that granted me the victory. Everyone cheered loudly, my brother and best friend the loudest. I set my bow down and tried to keep a calm composure but I just won against some of the best archers in the world. This is amazing!

Melinda was handed the trophy and walked over to me, handing it over. I took it and smiled.

"Well done, Diana." She finally broke her stoic face and smirked.

"You as well, Artemis." She walked off, taking her bow with her. Dorian ran up to me and hugged me tightly.

"Well done!" I laughed and hugged him back. Sage ran up and hugged me as well. This was such a huge achievement for me. And I am ready to take on whatever Mount Olympus has for me.

A/N: Very short and I'm sorry. This was actually super hard for me to write because there's no smut. Now, I'm not saying I'm obsessed with writing smut but I am. Don't worry, the next one is going to have some smut!
