Laila's POV

I woke again and I didn't feel like I did yesterday. Or whatever time it was. I rose from the bed and I could feel my limbs and everything. I was quite sore between my legs and my throat hurt like crazy but it was an experience I wouldn't mind having again. I walked to the door and I was surprised that it was unlocked. I opened the door and took in my surroundings. It was grand and majestic. Like a palace almost.

I heard footsteps and I quickly turned to see Raziel.

"Good morning, beautiful. How did you sleep?" I swallowed and winced a little.

"O-Okay..." His brows furrowed in concern.

"Your voice sounds horrible. Were we too rough on your throat?" I blushed and nodded.

"A little." He cupped my cheek and kissed it.

"I'm sorry. We were excited to finally have you and I think we all got carried away. How about some breakfast?" I nodded, smiling. He smiles and leads me to the kitchen. Morius and Arizima were already at the table, drinking coffee and chatting. They stopped once they saw us.

"Hey, looks whose up and about. You hungry? I made some scrambled eggs, bacon, sausage, hash browns, pancakes, waffles, french toast, fruit salad, and some other stuff," Arizima tells me.

"I think some of everything would be great," I rasped out. She gasped at how my voice sounded.

"Oh my gosh! Are you okay? Your voice sounds like you've been smoking for years!" Morius looked guilty.

"I'm sorry. We got a little carried away last night. How about some tea to help soothe that throat?" I nodded and he started making me some tea.

"Come have a sit near me," Raziel requested. We sit together and Arizima puts a plate in front of me.

"I hope this is to your liking. I tend to cook too much when something is on my mind." I nod and smile at her. Morius gives me a cup of tea and I drink some. It immediately helps my sore throat and I sigh in relief.

"Thank you so much. My throat feels better already." They all smile and each of them grab some food before making their way back to the table. I can't help but want to ask about the elephant in the room. But this is such a nice breakfast, I don't want to ruin the atmosphere. Luckily, I didn't have to.

"So, I'm sure you are wondering what you are doing here," Raziel mentions.

"Um, yes. I mean, if you would like to tell me." He nods.

"So, it's a bit of a long story. My full name is Raziel Muhammed Howard. The eldest son of the Howard fortune." My eyes widened. I never knew the Howards had another son.

"When I was 13, I was kicked out by my family for not being the son they wanted. They raised my younger brother to be their perfect son and he will be given the family fortune since they deemed me dead. But to do that, he needed to be married. That's where you come in. You are the next queen of Terre Di Lumiere. By marrying you, he gets your fortune, my family's fortune and he gets to be king. Without you, he can't do any of that since your other sister is too young to marry as well as your brother. I found Morius and Arizima in a similar situation. So, we banded together and made a plan to make sure we ended up with our family's fortune. Since it belongs to the firstborn son or daughter. I've known you since you were 10 and I was 12. You were always the prize for them. I couldn't let that happen to you so we...stole you?"

I feel like I should be raging right now but I'm not. I'm actually quite relieved. This lifts a huge weight off of my shoulders and it gets me out of the claws of my father.
