Elicia's POV(pronounced like Alicia)
I've always been around people. I've always been a people person. I guess it makes sense since I am the Alpha's daughter and next in line to run the pack. I do have an older brother but he has always been a very laid-back type of guy, never good with responsibility, and just an all-round lazy guy. It's okay with me though. I don't mind it and it's given me experiences that I never thought I would have. My dad wants me to marry another Alpha's son to have a strong alliance. But my mom holds her ground and wants me to find my mate. I do too. Now, I would normally do anything my dad wanted but I don't want to marry someone because of my soon-to-be status. I want to have my mate beside me through everything and anything. Not that it matters but I happen to be very popular in school too. I'm nice to everyone, I am part of many different clubs, and I'm a straight-A student. There are plenty of toxic people who want to be my friend but I can tell who's genuine and who's not.
I walk through the halls of my high school, carrying some books in my hands. It was about that time for the Winter Musical and the drama teacher, Mrs. Willington, asked me to help with auditions for the musical. It's not until December and it's only September. I make a pit stop at my locker and get out my necessary books. Okay, I know I have Algebra this morning so I'll grab that. And let's see, what else? Suddenly, I feel my wolf, Celestina, pace in my brain.
Someone's coming. Be prepared.
I stay still and just as I feel someone behind me, I whip around and pin them against the lockers.
"Ah! Elicia!" I looked and saw it was my best friend, Margot. She and I have been friends for as long as we were in diapers. She's the Beta's daughter so we grew up together. She has two brothers, one older and one younger. Her older brother has a huge crush on me and tries to get in my good graces every time he sees me but I know him for what he is. A bully. There were plenty of bullies in the school and they are sneaky about it but I can tell from their aura that they are horrible people.
I let Margot go and she turns to me, smiling. Her whole aura is a happy, sunshine yellow. She's always been a happy person with a smile that could melt even the grumpiest of people.
"Good morning, sunshine," I greet her.
"Hi, beauty. What you got going on after school?" She asks.
"Well, I'm doing the auditions for Mrs. Willington. After that, I have training." She pouts and sighs. Her aura goes a sad lapis blue.
"Oh, okay. I was hoping you would come shopping with me." I pat her head and pinch her cheek.
"Don't be sad. We can go shopping this Friday. Can I know what for?" She perks up back to that sunshine yellow and I smile. I love her when she's happy.
"Okay, so. don't freak out, but an underground fighting ring hosts fights every Saturday." My eyes widened.
"Why do you know about, Margot?" I ask her.
"Well, because, I think I might have smelt something down there. I'm not sure if it's my mate or not because I haven't smelt that scent since. I need to know if he's there but I don't wanna go alone.. There's a fight Saturday and I want you to come with me."
"Do you have any idea how much trouble I will be in if my dad finds out? I will be training until I'm dead and have no social life!" I warn her.
"Elicia, please. I need you. I can't go with anyone else and you are the person I trust the most. Please, please, please, please, please, please, please..." I cover her mouth to stop her pleading.
"Fine. I will go but you better find your mate." She squeals and hugs me tightly.
"I love you!" She says. I roll my eyes and smile.
