"watch it!"

"i got it!"

you looked over at a group of guys playing volleyball a few yards away. you recognized some of them from other parties you have been to.

"wanna join?" your friend asked as she finished rubbing more sunscreen on her arms.

you looked at her, "do you?" you asked her.

"sure. i see seungcheol over there so it'll probably be fine if we join," she said to you. "let's go."

both of you got up from your setup and went over to the makeshift volleyball court.

"oh y/n, y/f/n, i didn't know you guys were here too," seungcheol spoke when he noticed the two of you walking over. "i saw the others earlier," he added.

"it was a last minute decision. we're staying at the place jeonghan rented, so we'll be at the party tonight," you replied. "mind if we join?" you asked.

"not at all," he smiled. "guys, this is y/n, and this is y/f/n. they go to school with me," he introduced you and your friend to the guys you didn't know. you have seen a few of the guys before, but you weren't well acquainted with them.

"should we switch teams?" one of the guys asked, tossing the volleyball up and catching it a few times.

"let's just keep it the way it is," joshua, one of seungcheol's friends, said. "y/f/n, come over here," he instructed your friend.

"oh, sure," y/f/n replied and went to the other side.

"it's our turn to serve. pass it over, dino," one of the guys on your side said to the guy with the volleyball.

the dino guy threw the ball over the net and another guy caught it before passing it to a guy at the back of the makeshift court.

"i'm serving!" the guy in the back of your side said and served the volleyball.

you watched the ball fly to the other side before joshua hit it. another guy hit the ball over the net, and you lunged forward but another guy hit the ball before you could. you watched the ball as seungcheol hit the ball over the net.

joshua hit the ball to pass it over to y/f/n, who hit the ball but it went farther back. dino lunged forward and almost fell into the sand but managed to use enough power to hit the ball back to your side.

"i got it!" you said and hit the ball. a guy next to you hit the ball before seungcheol jumped up and smacked the volleyball over the net. someone dived but missed the ball by a few centimeters.

"nice!"

you played volleyball for awhile until seungcheol and his friends decided to leave for the party that another guy was hosting. you and your friend left to go get ready at the condo you were staying at.

"did you guys find dates?" jeonghan asked as he walked into the room you and your friend were sharing.

"why are you so interested in our love life?" your friend asked him, "so nosy."

"because it's fun every time you guys fail," the man responded, causing you to throw a pillow at him.

"hey!"

"go wake up vernon. we need to leave soon," you said as you fixed your hair as much as you could.

"you look sunburnt."

"yoon jeonghan, i'll make sure you don't make it back to campus if you keep this up."

"uh huh, i'd like to see you try," jeonghan replied as he walked away to go wake up the sleeping freshman.

"do we need to bring drinks?" your friend asked as she got up from sitting on the floor. she closed the door to the room and changed into a different top while you put on a little makeup.

"probably not, unless if you want to pre-game real quick," you replied to her.

"i do want to have fun," she said as she threw her clothes that were on the floor onto the bed you two were sharing.

"we could get some seltzers on the way there," you suggested. after finishing your makeup, you turned your body to look at her, "want to get some?" you asked.

"we aren't driving, so i don't see why not," she replied.

once you two were done getting ready and vernon was finally awake, you and your friends left the rental home and headed to the place where the party was being held. along the way, you guys stopped at a gas station to get a few hard seltzers before making it to the beach house. when you got there, you managed to get there at the same time as some of the guys who you were playing volleyball with.

"hey chan, you came too?" someone asked once you got into the house.

"you thought i was gonna miss this? of course not," dino replied.

more people showed up and everyone started partying together. people were dancing almost everywhere while some others played beer pong outside on the sand covered patio. you played a few rounds with some of your friends before taking a break by walking on the beach.

a few people were walking around, probably taking breaks just like you. you noticed a guy walking back towards the house and recognized him as one of the players on the beach.

"hey, seungkwan, right?" you spoke, trying to remember his name.

he stopped walking and nodded, "that's me."

"okay, just wanted to make sure. i didn't know that many people playing volleyball earlier," you said to him.

"most of the guys playing go to school with me, but it seemed like you knew quite a few of them," seungkwan replied. "nice playing with you today. it was fun."

"no yea, it was really fun. i love playing volleyball," you mentioned to him, making him smile.

"me too," he replied, "are you staying out here for a bit?" he asked.

you nodded, "yea. need to chill for a second."

"care for some company?" he asked.

you smiled, "i wouldn't mind. as long as you don't steal my spikes when we play volleyball again."

"that was one time."

"one time too many for my liking."
