you were sitting on the fire escape that was outside of your apartment. the sun was almost done setting, still giving you somewhat decent light. you were playing your guitar, preparing for a show you and your band were putting on the next night.

"sounds good."

you looked up and started looking around when you heard someone speak to you. however, you didn't see anyone and only saw apartments with their lights on.

"down here."

you looked down and saw a guy sitting on his window sill. he got up and walked onto his own fire escape before leaning against the railing. he looked up at you, and you saw him smiling at you.

where have i seen him? probably the store.

"thanks," you replied. "you can hear the full thing in person tomorrow night," you mentioned, "in case you're interested."

"where?" he asked.

"my friends own a studio with a bar inside. it's only a few blocks away. don't remember what it's called," you replied as you started playing your guitar again. "our show's sold out, but let them know that y/n invited you. they'll let you in."

"thanks for the invite, y/n," he said to you.

you smiled, "of course."

"so, you're friends with mingyu and jeonghan too?" he suddenly asked, mentioning the two owners of the studio.

you stopped playing and looked at him again, "huh?"

"they own don quixote," he said, mentioning the studio that you were going to be at tomorrow night.

"are you seungcheol?" you asked, knowing that mingyu and jeonghan had a friend who ran the bar when shows happened.

"how'd you know?" he asked. you could see him grin a bit at you.

"thought i recognized you from somewhere," you replied. "we play there a lot cause our manager is joshua, and we usually have a great crowd there too," you added.

"joshua? huh, we run in the same circle," seungcheol said to you. "gonna keep playing or we gonna keep talking?" he asked you.

"light's almost gone, and the neighbors are gonna get mad at me for playing late again," you replied. "you can come over if you want. have a beer," you offered to him, "or i guess i'll see you tomorrow," you added.

"i'll be there in ten," he said to you before turning around to go back into his apartment.

you chuckled and went back into your apartment. you closed and locked the window before putting your guitar away.

you threw on a jacket and left your apartment, heading to the first floor. once you got there, you waited outside before a familiar person walked up to you.

"hi."

you smiled, "hello stranger," you greeted. "i'm surprised we haven't properly met," you said to him.

"nah, i think you just don't remember. i've definitely made a drink for you," he said to you while smiling at you.

"i'm usually good at remembering faces. sure about that?" you asked him.

"yea, "usually" being the key word," seungcheol replied.

you rolled your eyes at him. "come on. i want a drink," you said to him before opening the door to your apartment building.
