It's been 2 weeks since everything that happened. Only 2 more weeks until my birthday, how fun?
It's been nice, there has been no tension between me and mom.
However there has been tension between me and Colin, I know mom can feel it too. I haven't apologised to him about what I said the other week but mom hasn't said I need to apologise so I'm not going too.
Mom hasn't really left my side either, she wants to 'hang out' and do stuff but I can tell she feels limited as we can't leave the gated neighbourhood without the worry of photos being taken or articles to be written. She did say she was going to talk to dad about it all though, I'm not just her child I'm his too and it's his decision as well as her own if he wants me in the public eye around her.
So I haven't really left the house with her.
"Bug can we walk in the kitchen for a sec?" Moms voice manages to come through the chaos of Rose and I playing with her toys on the floor.
Rose pouts as she goes to protest to mom about her interrupting our play session but before the words can even get out of Rose's mouth, moms face changes into a 'go on' then look and Rose instantly looks down.
I can't even help the chuckle that flows out of me.
I nod my head to mom as I follow her towards the kitchen.
She leans against the side as I decide to take a seat beside where she is leaning.
Her hand lifts towards my hair as she leans towards and gently kisses my forehead. A blush spreads across my cheeks, mom only chuckles in reply.
My heart feels as though it's beating out of my chest, and I don't know why I feel so nervous.
I haven't done anything bad have I?
Not anything I can think of anyway.
"Hey, where have you gone too?" Moms voice shifts me back into the room and out of my head. I shake my head and chuckle.
"Nowhere, I'm here. Sorry, what did you say?"
"I was wondering if you wanted to come somewhere with me?"
"Where?" Confusion morphs onto my face as she continues to smirk at me.
"Go and get your shoes on and you'll find out" I move so fast out of my chair, sprinting towards my bedroom door before I hear a crash. I stop and turn back to where I heard it, to see the chair I was just sitting on, on the floor. Mom stares between me and the chair as I run back over, lifting it back to where it originally was, sending mom a cheeky smile and letting out a soft 'sorry' and running back towards my bedroom to get a pair of trainers.
-----
I'm sitting in the passenger seat, mom is in the front and Rose in her car seat in the back, Disney music flows softly through the car as mom and Rose both sing along.
"Y/n, why aren't you singing?!" Rose shouts over the music, my body turning towards hers as I stare at the offended look on her face.
"Errr, I don't really like this type of music Rosie" Mom chuckles as she looks towards Rose through the rearview mirror. Rose's mouth opens in shock at my words and she stutters for a few seconds before she looks from me to mom, mouth still open in shock.
"WHAT WHY? Why doesn't you like it?!" The laughter leaves my mouth involuntary, my hand whipping up to my mouth as Rose sends me an angry look.
"I'm sorry, I shouldn't have laughed, you just look really cute when you're mad"
"I'M NOT CUTE" I turn towards mom, body tense, as Rose shouts at me, I'm honestly not sure what I've done wrong and I am kind of, slightly scared that I have generally upset her in some way. Moms smirk seems to tell me I haven't truly done anything and my body instantly deflates.
"Oh I'm sorry Rose, no you're not cute. I'm truly sorry."
"Mommy, why doesn't she like our music!" I see mom in the corner of my eye lift her eyebrow, her face turning into a serious thinking expression.
"She's a teenager" I whip my head towards mom in confusion, because I'm a teenager what does that even mean?
"But mommy, you're not a teenager and you're singing?" the ever so curious child replies to mom as I stay staring at her while she tries to think of a reply. Instead she doesn't say anything as she turns into an underground car park and parks.
Rose huffs and crosses her arms at the fact she has been ignored and I have to try my hardest in holding in my laughter at her facial expression.
I follow mom out of the car as she moves towards Rose's door, she unbuckles her seat straps before lifting her out, seemingly having a hushed conversation. I can't hear what they're saying but I can see Rose's face as she stares at mom in shock and turns towards me with her shocked face. Moms face seems to be in a permanent smirk as they make their way towards me.
Rose clearly snaps out of whatever she was thinking as she skips over to me, tugging on my hoodie, lifting her arms up, asking me to pick her up.
I jokingly huff as I pick her up, jokingly asking her how much candy she has eaten today, pretending she is heavier than normal, she doesn't stop her laughter that flies out of her.
I turn my head towards mom when I realise she hasn't moved from her spot by the door, I watch as she puts her phone in her pocket, her smirk replaced with the most loving smile on her face. I raise my eyebrow at her and she shakes her head before walking towards us and wrapping her arm around me and Rose while she walks us towards an elevator that's in the car park.
I still have no clue where we are and what we are doing.
I go to open my mouth and ask a question when the door to the elevator opens and we walk towards a reception deck. I seem to hold Rose tighter as I take in my surroundings, I don't know why I feel so tense and nervous, I'm with mom and she clearly, obviously, knows where we are. I'm safe. Rose is safe.
Moms hand rubbing up and down my back makes me calm down and my hold on Rose loosens.
I seem to have missed the conversation mom has with the woman on the front desk as moms hand starts to push me forwards towards a hallway, no words are said as we continue towards a door. I can hear voices on the other end and mom steps towards it, opening the door for us.
I stop in my tracks when I see the people who are all in the room.
I can't seem to bring myself to move as I stare at all the eyes staring back at me.
