Chapter 26: Trapped In His Paradise

"We already found new ambassadors and we'd like to welcome them here in the company. I'm planning to start a simple conference party. We have one more week to prepare."

I remained on my seat as I listen to Byron talking in front of the important members of his company. Ang kaniyang asawa na si Thaira ay nasa kaniyang tabi. Tahimik naman si Daisy at Carlos sa aking harapan.

Inabutan ako ni Pascual ng bottled water na bukas na ang takip. He was just sitting next to me. He is the engineer and architecture of Byron's company kaya isa rin siya sa may matataas na posisyong narito sa loob ng meeting room. I'm just one of the representatives like Daisy and Carlos.

"Salamat." tinanggap ko iyon dahil kanina pa ako nakakaramdam ng uhaw.

"We want to handle the event inside the Casa Carreras since the ambassadors suggested it."

Nabuga ko ang iniinom kong tubig sa narinig dahilan para mabasa ang folder na nasa aking harapan.

Hindi ko alam kung ano ang una kong maramdaman. Ang hiya dahil lahat ng tao sa loob ng kwartong kinaroroonan ko ay napatingin sa akin o dahil sa narinig mula kay Byron.

Natataranta akong humanap ng pamunas. Mabuti na lang at inabutan ako ni Carlos at Pascual ng tissues na agad kong tinanggap at sabay na ipinunas sa lamesang nabugahan ko ng tubig. Pascual helped me wiped the wet on my clothes too.

"Are you okay, Miss Villarreal?" one of the board members asked.

"Yes, Sir. I'm so sorry." agad akong tumayo at natataranta yumuko sa kanilang lahat bilang paumanhin.

Thaira immediately went to me and guided me to my seat again. She asked Byron to continue the presentation but our eyes met.

I was trying to find an answer in his eyes but he just grinned at me before continuing on talking.

What the hell!?

What I just heard made me uncomfortable the whole meeting. Kating kati na ako na matapos ito para makapag reklamo kahit wala akong karapatan dahil boss ko si Byron.

When the meeting finally done, at mukhang seryoso nga talaga ang binabalak nilang event, agad akong kumaripas palabas ng meeting room para maabutan si Byron at Thaira.

May kinakausap pa sila kaya hinintay ko pang matapos ang mga ito and when they finally done talking to them, nag martsa ako palapit sa kanilang dalawa.

"What do you mean the event will be held inside the Casa Carreras?" hinarap ko si Byron.

"I told you, she won't like it." ngumiwi si Thaira sa kaniyang tabi.

Byron chuckled before circling his hand on her wife's waist. Naramdaman ko naman ang pag hinto ng kambal sa aking likuran. I'm glad Pascual didn't follow us here dahil ayokong malaman ng iba ang hinaing ko sa buhay.

"I'm sorry to tell you this, Riel. I want to explain everything after the meeting but, okay," he smirked. The Carreras offered a big deal yesterday. Including Pieter, Yzrael, and Leone. They are our new ambassadors. I can't refuse it because it will be a big loss to me. To the company. Maganda ang inaalok nila. And I just can't ignore that big opportunity."

"Naiintindihan ko ang parte na 'yan. Ang akin lang, why does it have to be inside the place where I run away to?" pinilit kong maging kalmado kahit na ang puso ko ay sasabog na. "Walang magiging problema sa akin kung sila ang magiging bagong ambassadors but I won't be coming to your event kung doon sa lugar na iyon gaganapin ang lahat."
