It doesn't feel a lot like it's time
Not being salty or a sour little lime
But it's true that it doesn't feel right
Christmas eve spent studying all night

Not like I hadn't seen it coming
But the grind is only incoming
Pushing without no oiling or break
Is bound to make it tumble and break

So be it. I'll push for it today
Make tomorrow as bright as day
For a future where I can have my say
Must live to fight another day
•
Maybe you're far away
So far apart - night and day
Stuck in my heart even in the storm
Working away - early bird for the worm
•
Inspired and enriched through life
It's not one without the strife
A plethora of wishes unheard
Working to push past the herd
