Fairy lights on the table, I'm reading
One flickered out - It's already darker
How many more for reform
Absolutely no clear explanation
In complete grey area
Swallowed by the monotony and fear
Everyone's shaking, slowly reaching
Passing around a silent hug
No one was carrying a target, but
In came their cavalry, armed
Verbal arrows, cocked pistols
Aimed at the crew as if they all did
What what did anyone do anyway?
The hugs get tighter
The one little bulb that flickered
Soon a few on the outskirts, alone, too
There's not enough light to read now
But I don't want to put the book down
Tears brimming from the climax
Wiping them all away, it was time
I began working on the wires
I really wish they'd all come to life
People told me to back off
That I could get a prettier, new one
Yet, you can't replace that little one
So I sat at it till dawn, until
I opened my book again; it was time
One of the candles in the book are
Ruthlessly snuffed out, by a keen
Plot and ink weaver
That may be fiction
The lights may be material
But as I jog towards the rising sun
It was all similar - depending on one
It was all about the interpreter
Each had it's own justification
Not from birth, but through just
Silent exposure
Excuses for slight imperfections
Grown into merciless war
On what you say you mistook
For scarecrows in the dark
But the darkness is in the mind
And you saw those scarecrows move
Did time stop? It's pretty here an(d)-
It was loud just a moment ago, bu(t)-
It's just that I don't feel anymore
The last thing I remembered
Was leaving home without
Turning the string of lights off
They were all back to giving their all
I'd stilled blamed myself as
The dark faded in
Maybe it's my fault?
That I'd left them on without reason
Or is it?
That I'm here, soon to meld
Right into every speck of dirt around
But the doors were locking in my head
One open was in my bleeding heart
Those lights behind my eyes soon
Flickered off one by one
Right as I faintly hear noise
I could hear
It made me smile
But I soon, it-
