Because They Spoke
Actual sound - vocal, rap, speech
Or an honest heart to heart
Even those moves and
Everything behind and in between
One of many things and
Infinite more in their selves
You chose to persevere
You showed imperfections
At their rawest - darkest even
You made it clear that
Even if it looked unique
Was the best from within
Buffet for each sense
Also fed to heal
Me - broken to nothing
I could still see myself in you
Through you I could dream
I saw what I could be
Our roads weren't even similar
But our hearts could beat as one
You showed me an example
I took your hand in purple
You didn't let go - in fact
Pulled me in further to heal
I've grown feom within and
I have no regrets in taking
A long pause till I took your hand
When I did nothing was different
Nothing but for me
Now I stood stronger
A different outlook shading
Like polarized glasses
Even if things are the same
I know that you believed
Without knowing me at all
And knowing you will always be
The biggest and the best change
I am grateful that I turned to look
I am sure that I will stay
I am healing purple and
I am thanking you alone.
I am me, and still here today, only
Because They Saved.
