"billie it's me. again. uhm-" y/n cut herself off with a shaky sigh. "i know you're mad at me but please, please answer me. i need you right now. like i said before, josh is- he's in the hospital and i'm fucking scared, billie. i'm so fucking scared. i can't lose him." she said in probably the seventh voicemail she'd left for billie in the thirty minutes that she'd been waiting at the hospital.

"please call me." she whispered before shoving her phone in her pocket, pacing nervously in the hallway as she bit her tongue while trying not to cry.

joshua had been her best friend for as long as she could remember. every single memory she had as a child, joshua was in it. he'd always been a part of her life and she couldn't imagine living without him. he'd been with her through quite literally everything and y/n would break if she lost him.

she owed everything to him.

"y/n, hey come sit down. calm down. he's in good hands." sofia said as she pulled y/n down to sit next to her, y/n holding her head in her hands as she choked out a sob.

"i can't lose him."

"and you won't." sofia said as she rubbed her back in a soothing manner. "they're going to do their best to help him. he's going to be okay."

"no, sof. you don't get it. i saw how much pain he was in. he didn't look okay at all." y/n cried out as she leaned back to rest her head on sofia's shoulder.

"y/n!" she heard sabrina's voice as she looked up and jumped to her feet, watching as the short blonde left the elevator and ran up to her, hugging her tight. y/n had called her sometime ago to let her know that her boyfriend was in the hospital and she'd come as soon as possible. "what happened? is he okay?"

"i don't know." y/n said in a shaky voice, her bottom lip quivering. "they're running several tests on him to find out what went wrong. i have no idea what's happening with him. all i know is he said his chest hurt and he had difficulty breathing."

"oh my god." sabrina whispered with tears in her eyes as she held y/n close, knowing how terrified she must be. "fuck, i hope he's going to be okay." the blonde said in a shaky voice as she buried her face in the crook of y/n's neck.

"i know." y/n whispered as she held sabrina tight. "me too."

another thirty minutes passed but still no news. most of the cast had left since they'd decided it was best to give them some space. so it was only y/n, sabrina, sofia, tim and matt who was one of josh's closest friends from the cast.

"what's taking them so long?!" y/n snapped which quite startled everyone, considering the fact that they were all sitting in silence for a while.

"i don't know." tim sighed before looking at a nurse who'd just left the room joshua was in. "let me go ask her."

y/n watched as tim walked up to the nurse and spoke to her, resting her head on sabrina's shoulder as she wiped away her dried tears. she'd spent a good twenty minutes just sobbing. she just couldn't hold it in anymore.

"they're not sure what happened to him." tim returned with a sigh as he sat back down. "still running some tests. it could take a few hours."

y/n let out a shaky sigh as she stood up. "i'll be back." she whispered and walked off before anyone could ask any questions, wanting to be alone right now.

she walked into the bathroom and stood there as she looked at herself in the mirror, shaking her head as she pulled her phone out of her pocket and called billie.

straight to voicemail. again.

y/n sighed shakily before leaving yet another message. "billie." she whispered as she felt the familiar lump in her throat. "uhm, it's been around an hour since we got here. they still haven't found out what's wrong with him. it might take a few more hours." she ran her fingers through her hair and her throat started hurting as she tried her best not to cry.
