billie awoke with a smile on her face as she stared at the ceiling for a few minutes, just thinking. this was one of the only days billie didn't mind waking up early. it was her birthday today but more importantly, y/n was coming home.
rubbing the sleep out of her eyes, she sa up and rested her back on the headboard as she reached for her phone. her smile only got wider when she realized that her phone was flooded with texts from family and friends wishing her a happy birthday.
but of course, she had to text y/n first. scrolling through her contacts to find y/n's chat, she furrowed her eyebrows when she noticed that y/n hadn't texted her yet.
that's weird. y/n texted her 'good morning' everyday a few hours before billie had woken up, considering the three hour time difference between new york and los angeles.
maybe she was still asleep? filming had started that week and it was probably tiring so maybe she decided to sleep in.
but billie remembered y/n telling her last night that she should sleep soon since she had to wake up early. so she probably wasn't asleep.
why else had y/n not texted her?
billie ran her fingers through her hair before placing her phone on the bedside table, getting up to stretch after which she made her way to the bathroom.
she used the restroom and then began brushing, still confused as to why y/n hadn't texted her yet.
was she okay? did something happen to her?
she shook her head, knowing that joshua would've called her to let her know if anything had happened to y/n. so she had no reason to worry.
she let out a long sigh after spitting out the toothpaste and some water, looking at herself in the mirror with a frown on her face. her birthday was not off to a good start.
she left her bathroom to get her outfit. she was pretty excited for this, y/n would definitely love how she looked.
but she couldn't help but wonder if y/n was even coming. surely she would've let her know if she wasn't, right?
billie let out a soft sigh as she lay her clothes down on the bed, soon taking a shower and getting dressed.
once she got ready she took her phone and went through her texts, sending a 'thank you' to everyone who'd wished her a happy birthday. she furrowed her eyebrows when she realized that there was still no word from y/n. even joshua had wished her but y/n hadn't.
the sound of her phone ringing tore her out of her thoughts as she looked at the caller id, a smile on her face when she saw that her mom was calling her.
"hi!" billie grinned as she pressed the phone to her ear. she always loved talking to her mother.
"hey honey, happy birthday!" maggie exclaimed from the other end of the line and billie's smile only grew wider.
"thank you!"
"i can't believe you're nineteen already. time really does fly." maggie commented and billie let out a soft chuckle.
"yeah, i guess so. you and dad are coming tonight right?" she asked, referring to the small party she was throwing.
"of course we are! wouldn't miss it for the world."
billie grinned at her answer, more than happy to know that her parents would be there with her to celebrate her birthday. she only hoped y/n would come too.
"oh your dad wants to speak to you." maggie said before handing the phone to her husband.
"billie! happy birthday sweetheart!" the old man said, his smile evident in his voice.
