Truth be told, Cole was disappointed to come to the coffee shop which was absent of both Kai and the redhead whose name he couldn't recall. He should've paid more attention to the name tag... Well, it's not like he can't do anything with it today. Unfortunately.

As he waited in the line, he felt the glimmer of hope in the back of his mind that perhaps, if he was lucky enough, Kai would show up. Either to take or make his order or maybe just clean up. But no matter how much he tried to ignore the quiet wish, it never came true anyway.

And then, walking to his job, Cole had to fight even harder to ignore the bitter-sour disappointment that was caused by the absence of a person he barely knew.

It's not like he's never going to see him ever again, so what's the deal?

There was just something comforting about being welcomed with a friendly smile that seemed to be honest for once. And–

No, Cole. Don't go there.
