The last few days had great weather. It was still sunny and warm, days were still quite long but the melting temperatures were kept at bay. The thought of upcoming autumn excited Cole. Walking outside, he couldn't stop smiling at the world.

Except Kai was silent and normally, Cole wouldn't have an issue with it if it wasn't for the weird gut feeling. This wasn't like the peaceful silence they fell into, where they just existed together. It wore a small frown and had an almost limp hand.

"Are you okay?"

As if he pulled them out of a trance, Kai flashed him a smile. Had he been caught staring?

"Oh yeah. I just had an early work and got up even earlier, I guess I'm just a little out of it."

"We can just go home if you need some rest... We don't have to–"

"No! It's cool, I haven't been in the movies for so long, I wanna go. I just zoned out, no need to worry."

Some of the smile wasn't mirrored in his eyes. "Okay. But we don't have to pay to doze off in the cinema, my bed is free."

Kai scoffed. "I've got manners, I don't sleep in a cinema. That's for making out."

Although humoured, Cole still moved his arm to Kai's shoulders, pulled him close to peck his temple.
