It was a nice day at the park. The kind of lazy but happy day, as if the sun was able to turn one into a cat or a lizard.

Cole and Kai joined the several people that occupied the green grass and, laying on their backs, they shared a pack of gummy bears. Cole loved weekends, even if he had work they felt freeing maybe thanks to the memory from his school years when a weekend actually meant something most of the time. It was a lazy Saturday and he couldn't wish for more.

Not only that, it was also the sweet spot between spring and summer when the sun shone most of the days but the grass remained with its fresh green colour and was nice to lie in it.

"I don't ever want to get up." Kai sighed with contentment and Cole could only wholeheartedly agree.

"Me neither."

"But we ran out." Kai raised his hand holding the now empty package. Cole frowned and poked him.

"You asshole ate them all!"

"I guess it's genetic."

"You're not blood-related to Lloyd, though."

"We made a blood pact, that counts."

"I don't think it works like that."

"Oh hey, I found one." Cole's hand shot up to snatch the lost gummy bear from him but Kai held it farther away from him.

"Share, skunk!"

"No one with that dirty of a mouth deserves sweets," Kai argued. At that point, Cole managed to get a grasp of their arm but not their hand. He tried to pull it closer but Kai wouldn't budge.

"Come on, don't be like that."

"No, I found it so you better stop this childish behaviour before I start biting!"

It was unfortunate but necessary – Cole sat up to get the upper hand. However, it appeared it did the exact opposite. Kai took the forearm of the hand he was using to support himself, which resulted in Cole falling over into a clunky bowing position, his head next to Kai's. He could only watch them out of the corner of his eye.

"Asshole." But Kai just smirked and popped the gummy bear into his mouth and to show off, he stuck out his tongue with the bear on it before finally eating it.

"Hey, just wondering... you didn't check the weather forecast, did you?"

"No, why?" There was no need for Kai to answer because the sky did it for them as a few raindrops began falling until it turned into a solid shower.

"No, fuck!" Kai pushed Cole off himself and sat up, Cole following suit once he untangled himself from the weird position.

"What? Is it the water?"

"No, I wanted to go for milkshakes. But yeah that too, the rain messes up my hair. How am I supposed to look my fabulous self when I look like a wet chicken?"

"We can go for milkshakes. We'll kill two birds with one stone if we go somewhere inside," Cole offered.

"No, it was supposed to be a sunny day," Kai argued stubbornly.

"Why?"

"I just... don't like to have milkshakes on rainy days, that's all..."

Cole frowned in confusion. "Okay... Well, you cast this one on yourself, if you weren't being a greedy bitch–" But his words were cut off as Kai gasped and tackled him. Their clothes will probably remember that day as they wrestled in the wet grass.
