“I've been waiting for you.” If it wasn't for his flushed face and all the panting, Kai's attempt at a seductive voice might've worked.

“I just saw you dive on the couch,” Cole chuckled, pulling his suitcase inside so he could close the door.

Kai watched him walk over, still keeping the pose – laying sprawled on the couch with a hand propping up their head. “You're ruining the moment, Cole,” he scolded.

“Sorry.” Cole placed a quick kiss in the mess of a hair. “What's that smell?”

“Lemon cheesecake for the both of us and chocolate chip cookies I just put into the oven that aren't for you, so don't even try.”

“Oh… and I thought you were fully spoiling me.”

“That's for fully spoiling my fun.” Kai moved to make some space on the couch and pulled Cole down, only to sprawl over him as well as he took over his lips.

“The cookies?” Cole barely managed to say in-between all the kisses Kai initiated.

“They're on timer.” And before he could say anything else, Kai quickly shut him up with more as their arms snaked around his neck, pulling him closer and closer. Cole hummed into their lips, not even a little minding the fact that Kai was now using him as a pillow. One of his hands travelled to the string of Kai's apron and tugged on it in an attempt to untie it as if that would achieve anything. But he liked to tease and he had to laugh when Kai slapped his hand away without pulling away from his mouth.

“Seems like you missed me.”

“I'm not gonna lie, I was getting a little jealous of Mr Big Suitcase over there.” Kai nodded in the direction where the suitcase idly stood, waiting, waiting… while Kai's arms were still around his neck, his face still so close, his breaths still mixing with Cole's own.

“It's a two-week trip and it's not even completely full, so stop bodyshaming him.”

“Now see? This is the kind of behaviour that makes me jealous.” Cole chuckled and pulled him into another kiss. “But!” Kai sprung up from the couch, leaving Cole to fend for himself in the sudden winter which took place in the middle of summer and went over to where the curtains covered the entire window wall. “It gave me time to prepare this!” Tons of little lights lit up the room in various colours, reminding Cole of the light show he helped Jay construct.

“Oh, I was wondering why you decided to block the sun.”

“It sets too late, so I had to do it the hard way.”

Cole got up from the couch to follow Kai, to get him back into his arms and kiss him once again because even infinity would never be enough.

“Do you like it?”

“It's lovely.” He pulled away, rubbing his arms up and down Kai's waist. “I'm assuming you want to light the candles as well?”

Kai grinned at him. Still the brightest star in the room no matter what. It was like holding an endless goldmine right in his hands. “You know me.”

They could've as well kissed until the end of time if it wasn't for the cookies demanding Kai's attention. And the fact that he won't even get to enjoy them himself? They would as well deserve to burn into a crisp in that oven.

“Have you had dinner yet?” Kai asked, pulling the mittens off his hands, when Cole followed them into the kitchen.

“Not really. Does a sandwich like an hour ago count?”

Pulling out a bowl from the fridge, Kai replied, “Absolutely not but lucky for you, I have some pasta salad ready. I didn't feel like making anything complicated, hope you don't mind.”
