"Yes, Karis!" The client exclaimed as she looked at herself in the mirror. "I've been missing you, and I like this set up better than the suite!"

Nearly two months have passed and Karis finally decided to start doing hair again. Taylor has been doing much better and is able to do more for himself. Zuri has started kindergarten and goes to an after school program where she's been taking ballet lessons. Karis takes up to four clients each day depending on the styles they book for.

"I'm glad you like it and I am glad to be back." Karis replied as she swept the floor of her hair room that Heather and Mya help set up for her.

"Yes, honey! I will be back in six weeks, boo." She gave Karis her money, and Taylor escorted her out once he saw that she was ready to leave while he was walking down the hall.

"Do you think you can help me out?" Taylor asked when he returned.

"What you need?" Karis asked as she adjusted Cali who was asleep in the wrap carrier.

"My hand is spazzing and I can't open this." Taylor said, passing a bottle of water to her.

"Of course, baby." Karis opened the bottle of water back and kissed his lips. "I'm glad that you're up and dressed without my help. You still need your cane for support. Don't get too ahead of yourself."

Taylor smiled. "Yes ma'am." He replied. "How many more clients do you have? I need some cuddling time."

"I have an hour until my next one. We can cuddle now. I just have to put Cali dow—"

"Nope, bring her." Taylor told her. "Matter of fact, check Zuri out of school too."

Karis laughed. "C'mon, boy!"

"I don't even wanna be here." Brandon mumbled as he stood next to Lennox.

They were all at Amaru and Heather's house for the gender reveal. Brandon decided to step up and become apart of the pregnancy journey. It took some time and a wake up call for him to realize that he could not be a deadbeat like his father. However, he was very uncomfortable due to the cold shoulders and glares he was receiving from Lennox's family.

"Please try to make the best of this." Lennox said.

Brandon didn't respond as he went and stood in a corner. He decided this would be his spot for the rest of the party. At least he would be out of the way and no bother to anyone.

"Okay, time to eat!" Mya announced.

Everyone headed towards the kitchen except for Brandon who just remained in his spot. Zuri was walking beside Taylor until she stopped and looked at Brandon.

"You don't wanna eat?" She asked. "We're about to sit at the table."

Brandon shook his head. "No, I'm good."

"Well, you gotta eat." Zuri told him. "I know nobody likes you but if it makes you feel any better, I don't know what's going on so you can sit by me."

Brandon couldn't help but smile. Zuri was a sweetheart when she wanted to be. "I appreciate the offer but I don't think the grownups would be okay with that. I'm good right here."

Zuri sighed and nodded as she went to go see who was going to fix her plate. Brandon sat down on the couch once the living room was cleared and began to scroll through his phone.

Meanwhile, everyone prayed and sat down to eat their food when they fixed their plates. "Where's Brandon?" Heather asked.

Jaxon scoffed. "Who cares? I hope his ass left."
