Karis sat next to Killian as she gave him one of the bags of gushers in her hand. "Did Chocolate ask you for a ride to her doctor's appointment?" She asked him.
"Yes, and I ignored her." Killian replied nonchalantly.
Karis furrowed her eyebrows. "So, who's taking her?"
"Herself—I guess." Killian said. "She'll be alright."
"Listen, what she did was wrong but y'all are neglecting the girl at this point. She still needs some support and guidance with this being her first child." Karis argued.
Killian sucked his teeth. "Man, I don't wanna hear all that. She shouldn't have lied. We don't fuck with liars. We're just giving her a taste of her own medicine with what she's been doing to Jaxon."
Karis was about to respond, but Cali began to cry in her playpen. Karis got up and retrieved her before sitting back down. "I'm just saying—there are other ways in showing tough love. Y'all are just ignoring her and—"
"This shit with Lennox is only temporary. The main reason why you feel some type of way is because of what your family did to you." Killian retorted.
Karis' eyes widened at Killian's last statement. It was kind of like a slap in the face. "Okay, you can go."
"For what? What'd I do?" Killian asked.
"The fact that you think it's okay to bring up my toxic ass family is insane." Karis scoffed. "Fuck you, Kill. Get out of my house."
Killian sucked his teeth. "I didn't mean it like that, Karis. All I'm saying is—"
"All you're saying is some bullshit! Get out of my house!" Karis snapped.
Killian sighed as he exited the house without protest. The last thing Karis expected Killian to do was throw her situation with her family in her face.

Lennox hissed as she walked to her parents bedroom. She was feeling cramps in the lower part of her stomach and she needed to ask Heather a couple of questions.
"Mommy?" Lennox said as she knocked on the door. Nobody said anything so she knocked again. "Mommy? I need help please."
Lennox still didn't get a response so she looked down at the bottom of the door and saw that the light was on. She began to cry as she knocked again. "Mommy, please. I'm sorry. I'm having cramps. I just need a couple of questions answered." She begged.
Lennox began to cry harder once she realized neither of her parents were going to open the door. She went back to her room and grabbed her phone. She decided to call Karis for help.
"Hello?" Karis answered.
"Hey—umm—I have a question." Lennox said. "I'm having cramps. Is that normal?"
"Are they overbearing or do they feel like your usual period cramps?" Karis asked.
"Period cramps." Lennox replied.
"That's normal. Since you're towards the end of your pregnancy, it could be Braxton Hicks or your insides preparing to make room for you to push your baby out." Karis explained. "I drunk water and used a heating pad on the lowest level to help relieve the pain."
"Okay, thank you. I'll drink more water and see if mommy will allow me to use her heating pad." Lennox said with a sniffle. "Thank you for being here for me—even though I'm fucked up in the head."
"You're welcome, Chocolate. And you know you have a space here if you need anything." Karis assured her.
"I appreciate it." They said their goodbyes and ended the call.
