"We're not getting into that, H." Arman said as he folded his and Nova's laundry.
"C'mon, y'all." Heather begged. It's been a month, and Jaxon and Lennox were still at each other's throats. "Amaru and I can't get to them—Killian can't—Micah can't—Kennedi can't—my mama and Dear can't—Mya and Shakur can't—even October and Zachariah tried!"
"Heather, you know I'm all for making peace, but if Arman says no then we can't. I'm sorry." Nova replied. Her vows were to respect and obey her husband, and that is exactly what she was doing.
"They're grown and they'll find a way to resolve this. If not, then Big Mama is gonna get a hold of their asses some kind of way—trust me." Arman assured her.
Heather sighed. "I just don't like seeing my babies at war. Lennox finally came back to the house and made up with Amaru. I just want her to make up with Jaxon as well."
"So Sunday dinners are gonna have to stay awkward until they get un-mad." Arman said. "They'll get it together, H—I promise."
"I believe you only because you said you promise and you never break your promises." Heather told him.
"And you gotta promise me to let this beef run its course. Don't force it." Arman said and Heather nodded.

"Stop it!" Zuri yelled at Killian as she braided his hair. She was currently working on braiding to the scalp and has been practicing on Killian who was tensing up because she was braiding a bit too tight for his liking.
"It hurts, Zuri—damn!" Killian yelled back.
Karis entered the living room to check on them. She looked at Killian's head and nodded. "This is good, pumpkin. However, you need to be careful with how tight you're braiding. You want the braid to be tight enough so it won't get loose, but you don't want it too tight to where it's hurting the client. Okay, baby?"
Zuri nodded. "Okay, mommy."
Killian sighed in relief as Zuri took down the braid. "Thank you, Lord."
Karis laughed. "Taylor will be back with Jazzy soon. Go ahead and make sure your room is organized before they get here."
Zuri quickly did what she was told. She has not seen Jasmine in awhile due to things being in a disarray after the shooting. However, Taylor is back on his feet and has 93% of mobility back on his paralyzed side. He was able to do daily tasks with ease and still refused to play charades.
"So, how's school going?" Karis asked.
"Let's just say I'm ready for this shit to be over with." Killian said as he pulled hair up into a half updo. "Raya has been a big help though. She comes over after work, looks after Jonah, and fixes dinner."
"Sounds like y'all married already." Karis teased, making Killian laugh.
"Chill out, man." Killian said. "I really do like her and I enjoy her company. I also like the fact that she's so accepting of Jonah. She never judged me when I told her about the situation and she doesn't mind when Jonah tags along with us on our dates. Hell, I think she sees me just because of Jonah."
Karis laughed. "Have you asked her to be your woman yet or anything?"
"You don't think it's too soon?" Killian asked.
"Hell no!" Karis replied. "She's probably waiting! What are you scared of?"
"I just don't want to move too fast and get my feelings hurt." Killian admitted.
"You can't be living in fear, Kill. Fear is just going to hold you back." Karis told him.
Killian sighed as he nodded. "I know—but I need a sign."
