Killian groaned as he woke up to his phone ringing. Iris was asleep on his chest with the handcuffs still on one of his wrists. Killian couldn't help but smirk because he definitely did his job last night. He reached for his phone and looked to see who was calling.

"Hello?" Killian answered.

"Uncle K, you promised!" Zuri cried through the phone.

"Huh?" Killian asked.

"You missed my first gymnastics practice!" Zuri yelled. "You said you would be there to encourage me!"

Killian gasped as he looked at the time and saw that it was noon and Zuri's practice was from nine to eleven. "Zuri, I'm so sorry. I forgot to set my alarm and I overslept. I'm sorry, baby."

Killian could hear Zuri sob before he heard some shuffling and Karis got on the phone. "I'm going to calm her down. Come over when you can, okay?" Karis said.

Killian sighed. "Aight." They hung up the phone and Killian cursed under his breath. He was always there for Zuri and he knew he would be on her bad side for a bit.

"Your kid?" Iris asked as she readjusted herself.

"My niece." Killian replied.

"How are you gonna make that up?"

"I don't even know. It's gonna be hard." Killian said. "Gotta figure something out."

"Well—while you do that, I'm going to head home." Iris said as she sat up. "Where's the key to these cuffs?"

"Can I get your number?" Killian asked as he handed her the key.

Iris laughed. "For what?"

"So I can call you. What do you mean for what?" Killian said.

"This was just a one night stand, baby. No need for you to have my number." Iris told him as she got dressed.

"Well, I—okay then." Killian said. "Can I at least fix you some breakfast or—"

"Killian, honey. Don't make this harder than what it has to be." Iris said. "The dick was great, but there's no need for you to fix me breakfast and there's no reason for you to have my number. I just wanted some fun and you gave it to me—and for that, I thank you. Memphis is small and I might see you again; but for now, this is time for a goodbye."

Killian looked at her with a surprised expression on his face. He never had a woman hit it and quit it. His pride was hurt and he did not know if he would be able to recover from this.

"C'mon and walk me out, baby." Iris said.

Killian aggressively snatched the comforter from his body and got up from the bed. He slipped on his boxers before leading Iris to the door. Killian opened the door and quickly slammed it once she was outside. He was upset and hoped he never saw her again.

"What's up, man?" Micah said as he greeted Taylor.

"Not much. It's good seeing you." Taylor replied.

"You too. Jaxon is already here." Micah told him as they walked into the restaurant. They were currently meeting for lunch to help Jaxon look for a house. He was having some issues with his apartment complex and was ready to move. They joined Jaxon at the table and they went straight to work once their server took their order.

"I don't want stairs or carpet and I definitely want a fenced in backyard." Jaxon said.

"Aight, what's your price range and how many square feet?" Taylor asked.
