Brandon squinted his eyes as he read the instructions for his baby's crib. It wasn't as hard as he expected it to be, but he definitely needed his glasses to see the words.

"Hey, would you like to take a break? I made some lunch." Heather said, peeping her head in Lennox's room.

Lennox was working her last week of work before her maternity leave and Amaru was at the shop so it was just Heather and Brandon at the house. Brandon, Amaru, Heather, and Lennox agreed to have Brandon stay at their house for the first few months of the baby's life.

"Yeah, that's cool. Thank you." Brandon said as he got up and followed Heather to the kitchen.

"You're just getting off and went straight to work, huh?" Heather said, placing their plates of food on the kitchen table so they could sit down and eat.

Brandon worked from five in the morning to three in the afternoon Tuesdays through Fridays. He loved his work schedule, but getting up at three in the morning to be to work on time was tiring at times.

"I had to or Lennox was going to put me in a headlock." Brandon joked, making Heather laugh.

"Yeah, she has been moody a lot lately." Heather replied. "Have you been talking to Jaxon?"

Brandon nodded. "Everyday. He's been keeping his distance and I've been trying to talk to Lennox about the situation, but she just brushes me off."

"Yeah, it's a challenge to get through either of them. However, Jaxon is a bit easier than Lennox. As their mother, it's hard to see their relationship like this. They've been connected to the hip since birth. They were damn near potty trained at the same time." Heather explained.

"It's sad. I just want them to mend their relationship soon because I want Jaxon to be there for our daughter. I've seen the way he is with Karis' girls and Killian's son—he's great and they love them." Brandon said.

"Most definitely. He and Micah are the rich uncles right now." Heather said.

Brandon laughed. "I was supposed to be that rich uncle, but you see where we are now."

Heather chuckled. "Once she makes her entrance, you wouldn't mind being the rich daddy. She's gonna have you wrapped around her finger."

"I can definitely get used to that." Brandon replied.

"I miss when you were paralyzed." Karis pouted as she watched Taylor get ready for work.

"I don't." Taylor replied. "I have a family to feed and a wedding to pay for."

"But you were home with us more. We love you." Karis continued.

"I love y'all too—that's why I'm working." Taylor told her as he leaned over and gave Karis a kiss. "I have to show a couple of houses in Dyersburg, but I'll be back before dinner time."

Karis sighed. "Be careful."

"I will be." Taylor assured her. "You gon give me some when I get home?"

"As long as you're back before dinner." Karis said, kissing his lips again. "I could give you some now, but you wanna be on time."

"I have to be on time so don't tempt me." Taylor emphasized. "I love you."

"I love you too." Karis replied.

"Let me go say bye to my baby and I'll head out." Taylor said as he grabbed his things. Zuri was already dropped off at school by Amaru who kidnapped her before it was time to go so they could go on a breakfast date.
