Sara gulped.
Her heart was racing so fast that she feared that it would suddenly pop out of her chest. She hasn't been this nervous ever since seeing Corvis collapse at Mount Pyre. Her hands wouldn't stop shaking as she stared at her pokeball. She lifted her head and looked herself in the mirror, seeing her wearing a beautiful deep blue dress that stopped at her ankles. She forced herself to take a deep breath to calm herself.
This is it. Her last Chateau battle. As she sat, she couldn't help but reminince the past few days after Corvis' and Ethan's gym battle. She and Chloe had been training non stop with the help of Fiona, Corvis and Ethan, preparing themselves for their version of the final gym battle, quoted by Ethan.
Vivi's pokeball laid in her hands. She slowly brought it up and touched her forehead, staying still for a while, imagining as she was communicating with Vivi mentally through the capsule device. She whispered in a soft voice, "We can do this, I believe in you,"
She was snapped out of her thoughts thanks to two hands on her shoulder. She looked at the mirror and saw Chloe smiling down at her with her hair already done up.
"Cheer up Sara! You look so beautiful today," she complimented.
Sara smiled, "Thanks Chloe, you look amazing as well,'
Chloe walked around the bench and sat next to Sara. "I'm just as nervous as you are," she said, as if she was reading Sara's thoughts, "But don't let that stop you from having fun or holding you back battling at your strongest," she grinned as she clasped Sara's hands. "No matter what the outcome, we'll all be walking out of this building with a big fat smile on our faces, right?"
She ended it with a big grin plastered on her face. Sara chuckled at her words. There's not doubt that sometimes, she envied her. Her happy go lucky attitude and her optimistic personality, she wished she could have a fraction of that, especially in a nervous situation at an important event like right now
"Yeah you're right Chloe. We will," she pumped her fists. "We can't let down our pokemon who all worked and train their hardest for us, so let's make them proud and give the best battles we can,"
Chloe smirked. "More like giving me the best battle you can, I intend on making it to the finals so I better see you there,"
Nervousness washed away, determination built itself within her.
"You can count on it,"
No tension between them, just a strong sense of rivalry. Each of them was just a title away from achieving their goal, and they intended on getting it today. Luckily, before the staredown got any longer, a bell rang through the room, causing all the heads to turn to the door.
"I guess it's our cue to go out now, plus, the others are probably waiting for us right now,"
"Yeah you're right," Sara responded as she got up, brushing her dress as everyone made their way towards the door. Upon emerging out of the room, her eyes immediately scanned the large ballroom for a certain messy haired and a blonde trainer. They perked when they finally saw the two trainers holding glasses of what looked like juice chatting away at the table.
Both her and Chloe slowly made their way towards their friends and with each step, Sara couldn't he;p but admire Corvis' frame in the suit. It certain has been awhile since Corvis attended to watch her chateau battles as he had always been busy preparing for his own gym battles. The close fitting suit he wore managed to outline his figure almost perfectly, causing Sara to be trapped in a trance of just staring at him, until Chloe snapped her fingers.
Hearing the snap, Corvis turned around. "Oh hey guys,"
"How are you guys feeling?" Ethan inquired as Sara couldn't help but chuckle.
