A wave of anger and fear washed over Aiden Callister that day as he stared at the computer screen. It's been a long while when he last felt this anger in him, the only time he could think of was 10 years ago, when his dear Clarissa was on death's door.
Fear of losing the woman he loved. And anger at himself for not trying harder.
And now, it was the fear of losing his daughter, and anger at the one person who he thought he could call a friend.
It was just normal morning for him, doing his usual paperwork, ensuring his company and branches in other regions were doing well when he got a sudden call from an unknown number. After contemplating it, he decided to answer it, thinking it would be a good distraction from his busy work.
And the moment he pressed answer, his heart dropped at the sigh of Sara bound and gagged, with William into view.
"Hey old friend" William smiled, as if he never kidnapped Sara and bounded her like that.
"Sara!" Aiden called out, standing up. His eyes darted towards William, confused at why the person who he thought was missing was suddenly right there. Immedietely after looking at Sara's fear through her eyes, Aiden narrowed his.
"William, what in the name of Arceus are you doing! Why is my daughter like that!" he shouted.
The so called Ace Sailor opened his eyes. "Leverage my dear friend, you finalise the plans for the submarine, and I make sure nothing happens to your daughter's pretty face," he snickered.
Aiden didn't even notice his knuckles already turning white from how hard his hands were gripping onto the table. "You bastard!" he screamed.
"Ah ah ah," William moved his index finger, "That's not how you're supposed to behave now aren't you my dear Aiden," he spoke when he forcefully grabbed Sara's chin, gripping onto it tightly, causing Sara to make muffled noises through he gag, tears forming at her eyes. "Especially when I have your precious daughter here,"
The Callister gritted his teeth and tried to slow his breathing. "William," he spat, "What do you want," His voice was full of venom. Venom that caused the Team Aqua boss to smile in satisfaction.
"You know my email. I want you to send every final plans you have for the submarine. And don't you even think of sending anything funny or plans with faulty ideas. Do not underestimate Team Aqua's mechanics,"
William's eyes widened. "Aqua!"
"And if we think there's anything even slightly off, well," he motioned towards Sara, "I guess then something bad will happen to her then," William smiled. His hand reached out of the camera, Aiden backed up on instinct.
"I'll be expecting those plans soon my friend," he waved at the camera, "Let's have a drink sometime, after all it will be thanks to your generous collaboration that I''ll be able to achieve my goals, bye bye now," and the call ended.
"William wait!" Aiden shouted.
Footsteps scurried from outside his room and his door was opened by Amanda, his second wife.
"Honey what's wrong? I heard you shouting,"
Aiden fell back onto his chair and held his head in stress and distraught. Amanda quickly came over to her husband, being taken aback by seeing his face covered in fear.
"It's Sara," he spoke, his body shaking, "Team Aqua has her,"
-----
The laptop beeped as William ended the call.
"Well that went well," he remarked as he turned towards Sara, who was giving him a death stare. He merely laughed. "Wow, that stare does remind me of Aiden's, no wonder you're his daughter," He removed the gag from her face.
