Its been at least 3 days. Corvis and the group took some time off for themselves to train and prepare themselves for the next Gym/Chateau Battle. He couldn't help but feel proud as he touched a pokeball on his belt, a certain evolution, one that would be useful, especially for the next gym. But another reason laid in his head.
He had finally gotten the Draco Brace. The last artifact he needed if he truly wanted to put an end to this war.
He held his hands on the railing while raising his hand in in the sky, showing off the bracelet to the sky. When he first saw it, it was only encased in stone, but after passing it's trial, and being accepted as it's wielder, the stone casing came off, showing it's green and yellow color. But the more he stared at it, the more he thought about the trial.
He kept thinking about how young Leo and Drake was having so much fun as best friends, and their smiles, the most genuine kid smiles one could ever think of. But why? Why did Drake betray them? His words rang in his head.
Sometimes, you need to do the most regretful of things, so that no more regrets will happen in the future.
"What did he mean by that?" he whispered to himself.
"What did he mean by what?"
The sudden reply to his question surprised him so much that he lost his footing. His heart fell as his body practically tilted forward over the boat he was on.
"W-Woah!" Sara quickly grabbed his jacket hood and yanked him. But she pulled a bit too hard that Corvis ended up falling backwards with Sara losing her footing as well.
Thinking quickly, the teen grabbed Sara's body and switched their positions so that his body fell hard onto the wooden flooring of the boat. He grunted as his body hit the ground hard.
"Corvis!" Worry dawned on Sara's face. "Are you okay?"
He winced. "Yeah I'm fine...." His words trailed off until he realized the situation he was in. He was lying on his back with Sara's body on top of him, and her face closer to his.
It felt as if time slowed down as for some reason, Corvis took note more of her facial features, her long black hair spread out over the deck, how soft her skin look, and strangely, her pink lips, slightly parted, as it it was inviting him.
Only then he realized the weird position he was in, his body being over Sara's, his arm trapping her.
He quickly scurried back so hard and moved away so fast that he did realized how close the railing of the boat was behind him and before he knew it, the back of his head hit the railing with a thud.
"Ow!"
"Be careful!" Sara complained as Corvis slowly got up, rubbing his head, trying his best to hide his blushing face.
"Yeah I know," he quickly said. "A-Anyway," he coughed. "What's up?"
"I was just wondering what you were doing, we're almost reaching Mossdeep City,"
Corvis looked in the distance and saw that the boat they were on was nearing land.
"Nice, it's a good thing Her Highness- I- I mean Fiona," his changed his words upon Sara's face. "brought someone using their boat to bring us to Mossdeep,"
"Where you'll get your next Gym Badge and my final Chateau Rank," Sara continued for him. Corvis couldn't help but smile.
"Your final rank huh, we've gotten quite far on this journey," he laid back on the railing.
Sara giggled. "Certainly has been a long time since we started on this, it'll be hard to think about it when it's over,"
That statement hit Corvis hard. All this time, he's been thinking about his gym battles, Team Magma, Team Aqua, so many things occupied his head that it didn't even occurred to him what would happen when everything is over.
