It was a dark night. The heavy rain fell down, as if it wanted to destroy the ground. The sound of rain droplets hitting windows of Goldenrod Hospital caused disturbance and some people were trying to rest in the lobby. A nurse at the counter was finishing up and was preparing to leave her shift, her Chansey came up beside her and handed her a tray with a glass of water
"Why thank you Chansey," the nurse said as she grabbed the drink. She brought it up to her mouth, preparing to let the water get rid of the dryness in her throat when the door slid open. The sounds of rusty wheels woke everyone up and broke the silence.the nurse turned to see two doctors pushing a stretcher with a woman following them behind. She saw a young boy with an oxygen mask and eyes widened in horror as the crimson stain of the blanket caught her sight. She dropped the glass and it broke into countless of pieces.
"Get the emergency room ready!" The nurse ordered the Chansey who quickly followed orders. The Chansey went into a room and flicked a switch. Outside the room, lights turned on which said "OPEN". The worried doctors pushed the stretcher into the room. One of them escorted the woman outside.
"Please wait here," the nurse said as they closed the door. The woman sat down and saw her clothes stained by her son's blood. She brought her hands up to her face, trying to calm her down, but the idea that her son was on the verge of death was weighing down on her.
"I already lost one child, I'm not going to lose another," she said. She then heard footsteps and saw a man with a Blaziken beside him. He had dirty blonde hair which was under a hat. He wore a brown trainer outfit with jeans.
"Nate...," She said
"I heard about the accident, I can here as fast as I can," he said as he walked over and sat beside her.
"You need to eat," he said as the woman turned to him in horror.
"Your son is about to die and that's all your worried about?!" The woman said, almost shouting.
"Marie, he'll survive, he's a strong kid, and he's our son," Nate said as he stood up. "No matter how hard he's been through, he always smiles right?
"ZiKen" Nate and Marie heard as they turned to Nate's Blaziken. It was staring at the door which was opened. A doctor came out with blood stains on his white gloves and shirt
"Doctor.!" Marie stood up and went over to him. "How is my son?!" She shouted with tears forming at her eyes.
"Well, I have good news, and bad news..." The doctor said as he took off his mask.
"Spill," Nate said with a serious tone in his face.
"Your son's life is safe, there was no permanent damage to his heart or to his organs," he said as Marie gave a relived, but worried smile.
"Thank Arceus," she said
"And the bad news?"
"But there was permanent damage to his arm, his nerves to be exact," the doctor said
"'what do you mean?"
"The nerves connecting his arm and his spinal cord are broken, we can perform a surgery to fix it but it'll leave scar, inside, and outside. He'll be able to move his arm, but not the whole way, and he'll experience pain in his arm everyone and then,....or we can amputate his arm" the doctor said with fear in his eyes
"Do the Surgery," Nate said. Marie gave a horror and mad look at him.
"Are you crazy?! You want our son to suffer?" She shouted
"Did you not listen? Our son is strong. He's a true fighter. Whatever comes his way to push him down, he'll just get back up!" He said sternly.
"Don't you think you're putting too much faith in this he's strong thing?" Marie asked
"Do you not believe in your own son?" He said as Marie thought about what she just said. "Do you not believe that your son is strong? Our flesh and blood? My son?" Nate said. Marie gulped and took a deep breath and turned around.
"Do it" the doctor nodded and went back in. Inside the room, the small kid was laying down on a white bed with an oxygen mask with three other surgeons around him. The doctor nodded at the others and then went to the kid.
"Don't worry, I won't let you die," the doctor said.
In the starry sky, a plane was flying through the clouds with a few Pidgey's next to it. Inside the plane was a man wearing a tuxedo, sipping on tea. In front of the man, was a young girl who wore a ripped dress with a bruised face. She had her face down with a small cup of tea in from of her.
"You should drink dear, the tea is getting cold" the man said as he continued to sip on the tea. The girl just held her dress tighter
"You are never going near him ever again," he said as the girl looked out the window as the sight of Johto became smaller and smaller until it disappeared into the clouds.
