The rain that was promised to come in today pounds agains the window, a silent gesture from the sky to me that it was on my side today. I loved the rain.
"What all do you guys do at the training grounds?" I ask my mate, who lies across from me with a lazy grin as I stroke his handsome face that is being supported by the pillow under his head. His eyes flutter close as my fingers trace his features, sighing in content at the contact.
"Mostly strength and agility training, but we also work on smooth shifting and human to wolf combat." HIs voice is a deep rumble that isn't any louder than a whisper. We had found our way back in bed right as school ended, and had stayed in the same spot since. I nuzzled my head in the pillow I laid on, as Theo continued to tell me more about his pack. We spent most of the afternoon by him filling me in on the small parts of the pack I was still curious about, as well as the mating process. Apparently, due to Lunas being such an important role, the pack would be just as thrilled for our bond to be finalized, as well as be able to tell when we fully mate. I tried to not find it creepy, which still didn't work. Theo had laughed and replied it's something I'll grow fond of, and that their endearment comes from a good place.
Just when Theo had stopped explaining training, another idea popped in my head.
"Heres another one. You wouldnt happen to have anything to do with the 'situation in the city', would you?" I ask, narrowing my eyes as Theos hold a mischievous glint.
He hums, pulling me closer so our bodies are touching and burries his nose in my neck. "Theres a situation? Dear me."
I let out an airy laugh as he places a light kiss on my neck. "I mean it, what did you do to get him out of town for so long?"
Halfway through the day, I had received a text from my mom informing me that her husband would be out of town for at least a week to deal with some strange sightings that were in a neighboring city. Seeing as Kingsley was talking up one of his old flings from the cheer team, I suspected he wouldnt be home until his father was back to notice his absence, which Theo confirmed from his being able to listen into the conversation.
"Maybe it is just simply a lucky coincidence?" He suggest, his mouth pressing sweet kisses along my jawline. I feel my lips twitch as I push his head away. He pouts momentarily before his grin returns.
"Good idea, love," he murmurs as he captures my lips in a slow, toe curling kiss. Though Im enjoying myself, I push him back to give him a pointed look. He sighs, and flops over on his back.
"I just sent out some of my men. People were having complaints of large animals scaring their pets and digging on their property, so they needed the Sheriff for backup due to the large influx of calls in."
I smile as I scooch into his side, my head hovering above his. "Thank you, Theo."
Those brown eyes that I love soften, and with no trace of humor, look into mine. The way he looks at me is mesmerizing, there is no other individual who can simply look at me and send this feeling down my body. "Of course, Rosa. Its the least I could do."
