I look out the window as we drive towards the pitch black distance. The car eats up the miles, which is all thanks to Theos inability to not go at least 10 over the speed limit. I can see my reflection as I look out. A tired, dull face looks back at me, with dimmed eyes and an evident frown. Im decked out, wearing athletic clothing that is all black. I thought it was overkill, but apparently black dulls my eyes more than any other color, which would give me a better shot at not being recognizable.

In the passenger seat behind me, I look at the reflection of Theo Holdin, who's turned fully into Alpha mode. He leaves no room for negotiation in the mode; when we go in there, we will mean business.

Since getting the address we needed, it had been just a few hours before we suited up and decided to go pay Millicent a visit. From my understanding, she fell in love with Alosious, which means she's gotta be bat shit crazy. She is powerful enough to still be able to enchant Alosious' siren rouge abilities from all the way out further west. That in and of itself should scare us.

Besides that, the council came to us with more information. She has been one of the dominating lead  witches in the Western region for some time, which means she experienced. She also has done her fair share of transactions with some of the Southwestern territories, which confused us due to her locating so far up North. They had also told us that most of the books contained phrases written in an ancient language where all the could make out was "chosen". It was a whole lot of nothing but stress for us. Regardless, this witch was connected, wise, and crazy. A scary combo.

We had to come in ready.

And truth be told, I was. Because before tonight, I didn't know what my role in this pack was. I didn't know if I was the downfall or the upbringing of Theo's future. I went into a rabbit hole of researching what Angelifuck had said in the courtroom. And dammit, she was right. Theo was widely respected by she- wolves near and far. Some of what I found was a mixture of fear and respect, but I suppose that that was a good mix for a leader. But, most of what I found was flat out attraction. I didn't know these women, but they sure knew him. Girls from packs near and far talked about the single elligible Alpha as if he were fucking Christian Grey. They might as well wrote a column on him. He was known as gorgeous, dangerous, young, but mostly, sexy as Ill get out.

And I hated it. I hated that all these women knew of him before me, before I even got to taste what his lips felt like or bear his mark. They knew every detail about him. I was shocked at my jealousy, but not so much that I scolded myself. Theo Holdin was mine, and I damn sure wasn't going to pretend he wasn't.

I suppose thats why having our ceremony now was more important than ever. Fully giving into our bond in front of the pack and the supernatural world solidified that he was no long an eligible bachelor, but an Alpha who had found his counterpart to rule next to him. I can understand why that would work too. He would be seen as more than a sexy, young, Alpha, but a bonafide ruler for the largest pack in the North West.

And then there's Leonardo...I wasn't exactly sure yet how to take that encounter, but I knew, eventually I would have to come to terms with it.

"Your gears are turning," Theo breaks me out of my trance. "Penny for your thoughts?"
