Theo hadn't made an effort to talk to me the rest of the day. I don't blame him either, I legitimately friend-zoned him in front of the whole student body. And to make it worse, I don't think Kingsley had believed me in the process of me doing so.

I knew he would talk to me about it, and it wasn't as if he had purposely been ignoring me. We usually don't cross paths that much during the day. Regardless, I still had a small knot of guilt in the back of my chest.

"Are you still coming with me after school?" Jess asked while I grabbed my stuff out of my locker. I nodded.

"Wouldn't want to miss it." This caused Jess to smile.

"Oh Ade, you're going to be so happy! She's doing a lot better then last time. I mean, her skins almost glowing practically. I think we might be done for good this time." Jess raced out excitedly. My lips curled up. Jess' love for her mother was always something I admired.

"I can't wait to see her, Jess. Just let me break the news to Theo, and I'll meet you at your car."

"Ade," she lowers her voice so others around us can't hear. "Don't say anything about the details, I- Well I haven't found a way to tell Levi yet and I don't want him finding out from Theo."

I nodded my head. "I understand Jess. It's not my place to say anything anyways."

Jess' smile reappears in her face. "Alright, go talk to your man."

I shook my head at her, and made my way to his car. Just how he did everyday, he leaned against his Caddy, arms crossed over his chest, looking as devilishly handsome as ever. I straightened my back and walked gracefully over to him trying to compose myself, not knowing what to expect from him.

"Adeline." He greeted me coolly. Though he didn't say anything special, I felt my body internally swoons at how my name rolled off his tongue.

"Hi," I say. He makes his way over to open my door open for me, but I go to reach for him to stop him. He sees my hand reaching for him out of his peripheral vision, and dodges away from me. I recoil my hand back, a pang in my chest at his rejection. My arms fold to put a barrier from the hurting in my chest.

"Don't." He says gruffly, his eyes swimming with a darkness, swirling in with his beautiful brown eyes. "Just get in the car."

"I'm going with Jess," I explain, "There's this thing for her family, I really want to be there."

He looks over my features once, seeing if i am telling the truth before replying with, "Fine. Do I need to pick you up?"

I think over it, ignoring his curt tone. "I don't think so. I'll let you know if something changes though."

He nods as if this answer satisfies him, and proceeds to climb in his car. I start to walk away, trying to make sense of his off attitude. I hardly even realize a car rolling up behind me. I see a large black car in my side vision, and look to see Theo pull up right next to me, close enough for me to touch the drivers side.

He rolls it to a stop next me, and in a swift motion leans out the window to kiss me passionately in the midsts of the parking lot traffic.

When he pulls away, his eyes are still dark.
"I'll pick you up at 7:30."

I cock my head to the side. "8." I challenge.

His brow rises. "7:40."

I kiss him slowly again, forgetting about everything that previously happened this day. Forgetting the very reason I started this fight in the first place. Forgetting is Kingsley was even around to see me. All that mattered was him.
