****Another Steamy Chapter******

I watch as my mate paces before me in the living space of our hotel suite.

Wordlessly, he had decided we would stay for the night and travel to the states in the morning. I had secretly hoped we would end up traveling back, but I knew better than to interject when I was the reason we were in this mess.

Angry or not, he looks like a slice of heaven. His muscles are coiled and his steps are cool and controlled. He could very easily be the angriest hes ever been at me, yet I couldnt help but stare at him as though he were my last breath of air.

He briefly stops when he sees my look, and his lips set into a firm line. "Dont you dare, Adeline."

Surprise is evident on my face as I allow my brow to quirk up. "Its Adeline now, is it?"

A low growl rips from his throat. "Dont change the subject. You know what you were doing."

Its my turn to make an angry noise as I scoff at him. "I know you're upset, but can we at least acknowledge that I really did us a favor by coming up here today?"

Despite his anger at my previous staring at me, he looks me up and down and his eyes flame. "You most certainly dindnt do my nerves a favor by wearing that dress in there. Do you know how many males were staring at you?"

I shake my head, my face flamed from my anger. He wasn't getting it. "I just got us our next clue in this big shitshow of a mess and you're worried about what I wore to the club?"

Theo makes a face, and I can tell hes biting his tongue. Good, he better watch what he says next carefully. He looks me over again and sighs, bringing his fingers up to pinch the bridge of his nose. "Its not that Im worried about, mi amore," He starts, pausing to crack his eyes open to look at my dress again, "Though thats an easy veto on you ever wearing that around anyone but myself."

I scoff, ready to jump in, but im stopped as he continues. "Its that I had no idea where you were and we are on the brink of war with an enemy we cant even track. Ive done everything in my power and we still don't have any answers, my company is shitting the bed because they don't know how to use common sense, and on top of that, my mate thinks I'm so weak and untrustworthy that she has to sneak behind my back to protect herself."

My eyes soften at his statement, the blow going straight to my heart. "You think I don't trust you and find you weak?"

His chest heaves with emotion, but his face doesn't give them away. When his black irises come to meet my own eyes, I see a small crack in his facade. "I don't know what to think, Rosa."

I shake my head, my heart hurting from all that I had done to him without me even knowing. "No, Theo. Youre the image of strength, and i've told you parts of me that only you and I will take to the grave." I sigh again, hating the vulnerability i show once again in the span of just a few days. "Im the weak one. Im the one whos no help and is just attracting danger wherever I walk. I know nobody in this world, so I clung on to my first opportunity to do something for you, because I feel like I'm the burden."

A beat of silence passes, and Theo doesn't move. I stare down at the floor, unable t meet his gaze. Admitting all of that wasn't easy, and though it was a break through for me, it changes nothing about his mood. I could have just kept my mouth shut and none of this-

"Bella," His term of endearment forces me to look up. Im met with sobered brown eyes. "In my world of supernaturals, you are by far the strongest person I have met in my life." My eyes widen, and he shakes his head with a small smile. "You dont need to prove anything to me. Ever. You're all a warrior is and more."
