I woke next morning to a knocking on my door. I immediately sat straight up, my eyes cloudy with sleep. I rubbed them, trying to have them adjust to my surroundings. After Theo and I had talked on the roof for an hour or so more, I eventually convinced him I had to come home. Truth be told, I would have stayed on that roof all night if I could have.
The door opens without a warning, and in walks no other then Kingsley. I immediately cover up my chest, since I went without a bra most nights. Then again, I usually don't have him bursting in every morning.
"I know you got to put on your makeup and choose what clothes you want to romp around in but-" he stops short, and eyes me on the bed. His face hardens, and a frown sits over it replacing his smug look before. "Why are you not up?"
I don't answer and scratch my head, still trying to have my body wake up. He watches my uninterested movements, and his frown turns to a scowl. "Kazler, it is 8:30!"
This certainly gets my attention, and I twist to read I have 15 minutes before school starts. I almost jump out of bed, before remembering Kingsley was still at my door.
"Ill get ready fast." I mumble out, trying to gesture him out. He does quite the opposite, taking a few steps into my room. I grip the sheets tighter, my brain sent radars off, knowing there was nothing good that could come out of this.
"Why did you sleep in past your alarm, Kazler? You always get up on time." He says more to himself, his glare meeting mine. "Why were you up so late?"
"Kingsley, get out." I grit out, dismissing his questions. He shook his head, his eye blazed with irritation.
"Don't tell me what to do in my house," he responds lowly. As much as I want to inch away from him, I cant give him that satisfaction. "Now answer my question."
"I need to get ready."
Something in him snapped, and one second I was sitting on my bed, and the next I was being dragged up by my arm. I grit my teeth, squirming away from his grip. "Kingsley-"
" Were you out with someone?" He questions, his voice dripping a sour tone I could practically taste in my mouth.
"Get off of me!" I demand, desperately trying to get away from him. His face contorts in anger, and in one swift motion, I'm thrown to the ground.
"Tell me!" He seethes, and I can tell he might as well be seeing red. Though I cannot imagine why, he has no right to be mad. Before I have time to think of what to tell him, I'm pulled off the ground, my feet barely touching the ground. "Was it with a boy, Kazler?"
I don't answer and try to escape his hold. He tightens his hands further. " You know better than that, Kazler. Father wouldn't want a whore walking around the house."
I scoff. " And I'm sure that it pains him to wits end when you waltz smelling like your new one night stand."
His eyes burn alight with anger. I'm dropped to the ground again, and don't have any time to brace myself this time. I feel the blow go to my lower back, and grimace and the thud. Kingsley and I look up at each other almost instantly. He takes a step away from me, his face calculating.
"Kingsley, stop." I try to reason. I already feel the bruise forming, and know what is about to happen next. But his mind is already made up.
"I'm sorry you werent feeling well this morning, I'm sure what you need is just a nice day at home," he draws out, in his terrifyingly calculated cool manner. I scramble off the ground, ignoring the stabbing pain on my back.
"Kingsley, stop!" I say hurriedly, trying to stop him. I knew he would do this. When they get sloppy, I suddenly wasn't feeling well and couldn't make it to school. Though this bruise was esily concealable, so why would he bother this time around?
