Rudy POV

Time went on, after the day I told my family about entering the next hunger games. Finnick and I spent whatever time we had with each other. We continue to plan our wedding that will occur the following year. We also spent quality time with my family. During the days before my birthday, Finnick helped with my training to better prepare for the next Hunger games. I have to tell you. Finnick is a hard task master and trainer. He always made  sure I pushed myself above my limits. I could understand why he does so. He wants me to be stronger, and ready in mind for the future hardships. I appreciate all the help he is giving me even though he could go overboard at times. 

We had a few fights about him going overboard, but we came to an understanding. That understanding was I will do everything to the best of my ability without tiring myself out. I will push myself however far I can, but I know my limits. The boundaries that we set up will benefit us and our bubbling relationship to set some foundations between us. We apologized to one another after those fights and our relationship grew stronger because of our communication to one another.

Before we knew it, two weeks went by and October the 17th came. I turned 15 on that day. On Friday the 17th of October the 17th, Finnick and my family threw me a small birthday party with just the five of us. We celebrated the day of my birth as a family would. 

The day was a blast full of laughter, games, and all my favorite food to eat. My mom was the best in making that day possible and making all the delicious food. I know that my father, brother, and Finnick were no help at all with the cooking. However, they helped set things up and did some heavy lifting. 

As we celebrated the day away it had become night time. I had decided to stay at Finnick’s place because he said he had a surprise for me waiting back at his home. We said good-bye to my parents and brother; then we were on our way back to Finnick’s.
