Chapter 50: Birth and Family

Rudy POV

As we finished with our little late night playing in bed. We had fallen asleep in one another embrace. However, in the early morning hours, like around 3 am in the morning. I was feeling some cramps on my lower abdomen, but I didn’t think anything of it. I try to go back to sleep. I did end up falling asleep but I still felt uncomfortable.

Later in the early hours, I felt something moving around beside me. Finnick was moving to get out of bed. I am assuming that he is trying to leave without saying good-bye like his idiot counterpart. Yup, that is so not happening in this lifetime and day. I also don’t want a sorrowful letter to be the last thing I get to hear from him as well. So, I went on to turn towards him while I was still in bed. I open my eyes to see if he will realize that I am wide awake.

Finnick went on to do what he was doing until he aw my eyes staring at him. He looked like a kid who got caught stealing a cookie from the cookie jar. I jut wanted to laugh at his shocked face, but I had to say something serious to get my point across his thick skull.

“I know you are not about to leave this room without saying a good-bye to my face, Mr. Odair,” I said in an angry tone.

“Ugh? No…I was not,” said Finnick with a guilty conscious. 

“Finnick. Just don’t lie to me, but tell me the truth,” I said with puppy dog eyes to make him break. Finnick cannot resist those eyes I make to get him to talk.

“Okay! I was going to leave. I just did not want to wake you up. You looked so peaceful sleeping. Also, I did not want to say good-bye because I know I would not be able to leave and I for sure don’t want to go now. When I look at you and when I hear your voice it makes me realize why I love you so much,” said Finnick.

“Good! You are learning from your mistakes. Now, do not make me get out of this bed and drag your ass back in it. You should know better, Finnick,” I said.

“I know, I should and now I feel like shit for trying to do so,” said Finnick.

“Well then Finnick, it is great that you now know better than sneaking out without communicating with your spouse, Now, get in this… UGh!,” I yelled.

At that moment, I felt my water break and I felt a contraction rock through my body originating from my core.

“Rudy! What’s wrong?,” yelled Finnick with panic.

“Ugh… ahhh…. My. water. Just. broke,” I said through the clenching of my jaw.

“What?,” Finnick said.

“The baby is coming… ugh… you seaweed brain!,” I said.

“Now?,” asked Finnick.

“Yes, now you idiot!,” I said to get him out of his shocked state.

“Okay!? I got things from here. Wait for a bit my love, I am going to get your parents so they can know to watch over Caspian,” said Finnick.

“Hurry up! Then….ugh!!!,” I said while I was trying to keep myself calm and breathe through the pain. After that Finnick was out of our bedroom door, at 4 in the morning, to go wake up my parents. Finnick ran as fast as he could to go get my mom and dad. A few minutes went by until Finnick came back with my parents in tow. Finnick went on to help me out of bed so he could carry me in his arms to take me to the medical wing. Before we left, my parents gave me a kiss on the cheek and wished my baby and I well.

I was in Finnick’s arms being carried all throughout district 13 halls to get to the medical rooms from the doctors and nurses where at. Things did not take that long for Finnick to get me to our destination. Finnick literally kicked the door open, which alerted all the medical personnel.
