Chapter 46: Destraction Promotion

Rudy POV

The bombings went on for days until they finally stopped. We weren’t allowed to move away from the bunkers for safety reasons. So, we stayed down here for a long two weeks. Thank the heavens that the bombings had stopped completely. 

All the stress and worrying was not good for my health. However, I’m just glad that we are still safe and sound. Throughout the entire two weeks down here, Finnick could always be seen by Caspian’s and I's side. Finnick was looking out for us as his family. I could tell that this entire situation has him worried about our little shark as well as the baby growing inside me and along with me. Being one month and two weeks pregnant with everything going around us is not fun at all, but I can handle anything as long as my babies are safe. At least, the good part of everything is that we have everything that we need and each other. The days were long in the bunker with the constant bombing sounds coming from the outside. At times it was hard to sleep but other times there would be a long silence until the bombing started once more. Days went by that turned into two weeks.

After the two weeks in the bunker another two weeks had passed us with no further problems. I am now two months pregnant and having 4 months to come for the baby to arrive in this world. I wouldn't like that I was not stressed and worried about this because how am I supposed to raise a newborn with the current climate things are in now. The even saddest part is that I’m going to have to deliver my baby here in district 13 and not back home in district 4. I know it might seem unreasonable but this place is not home. People may say that family is where home is at, but that might be true. However, home is where you feel the safest and at peace then where I am currently at. Anyways, that is beside the point that I am trying to make. I’m just saying that I want to be surrounded only by my family in a place were we all could be comfortable and be at peace. 

On the other hand, there are doctors here that are bearable to be around with, but I still don’t like it here in district 13. I am grateful to have these doctors and nurses around to make my labor and the birth of my newborn safe and easy.

One day, Finnick came to me to discuss things about Coin asking him and Katniss to help start promoting the idea of the mockingjay and bring in the peoples’ support for the rebellion. At the end of the day, the rebellion needed soldiers and pawns to fight a civil war to achieve the goal of a new era in history for Panem. I went on to tell Finnick I will support him in whatever he decided to do. I love him and I will be happy to support him in anything he does in life. As long as the things he does are not dumb and harmful to himself. That’s where I draw the line to my support in him, but he will have me by his side to point these things out for him. 

The day had finally arrived for Finnick and Katniss to start a live broadcast across the entire nation of Panem. If I heard things right, then this broadcast will be used as a distraction for a resume mission. The rescue mission is to rescue the people who are stuck in the hands of the capitol. If I have to list people, then these people will be Johanna, Annie, Peeta, and any others that were held captive in the capitol. The live broadcast had the added bonus of convincing people to fight, telling all the dirty secrets that are hidden, and encouraging people to take a stand for themselves. By the end of the broadcast, the people will be united into one cause. 

I decided to stick with Finnick throughout this whole process. I will be in the same room as him when his pats airs. I will be there for his comfort and as his moral support. My parents will be looking after Caspian while we are here. Leon will be alo helping out my parents even though he is still missing Annie.

Before Finnick went on live on t.v, he was standing in the middle of a podium ready to be filmed at any given moment. I walked toward him to talk with him a bit.
