Chapter 53: Family Getting the Chance to Meet Kai

Finnick POV

Walking out of the meeting room was a hard thing to do. However, it was the right thing for me to do. At the end of the day, my family comes first in this life that I live in. With heavy footsteps, I walked back to where my in-laws and Caspian were. They are waiting for my return. It is about time to take them to go see my love, Rudy, and go take them to meet little Kai Odair- Wolfstein.

My walk back felt like something had been lifted off my shoulders. I guess, I was feeling the burden, all the anxiousness, and the worrying of knowing the future sequence of events that are supposed to occur. Now though, the information was out there and I no longer have to keep it to myself or keep it hidden from others. I am just hoping that everything goes fine for squad 451 even though I am not there anymore with them. 

The only thing they have to worry about is Peeta. Snow had him hijacked so he could kill Katniss. However, I would not worry about that fact too much because Peeta won’t be able to accomplish that mission due to him snapping out the control the capitol had implemented on him. Anyways, enough of this, it is out of my hands now and my choice was made already. I am fine with it.

I finally made it back to my quarters after being in the meeting for just over an half an hour. I know it was a short amount of time, but I did not have much to say. Once I was outside the front door, I went on ahead to walk through the door and I saw my in-laws and Caspian once again together in the living room watching t.v. My father in- law was the first person to ee me as I walked through the door.

“Finnick, Are you all done with your meeting?,” asked Christopher.

“Yes, I am done. Everything went smoothly and I got everything straighten out as well,” I said.

“That’s good. Welcome back!,” said Christopher.

“Thanks,” I said in response to him. After that I got a welcome back from Melinda and Leon as well after they noticed I was back during my short talk with Christopher. 

“Daddy? Can we go see papa and my little brother now?,” asked Caspian. 

“Yes, we can, my little shark,” I said to Caspian. 

“Yay!!!,” yelled Caspian in excitement at getting the chance to see his papa and his new little brother.

“If you are all ready, then we can go on ahead and go see Rudy and our newborn son,” I said towards my in-laws and Caspian.

“What are we waiting for? Let’s go then,” said Leon.

After that, we all left out the door as we headed towards the medical wing in district 13.

Rudy POV

(Yes, its me. I am back! muhahah!)

When Finnick went on ahead and left to go meet my parents and his squad members. I got the chance to rest and sleep for a short amount of time. It was more like 30 minutes before I woke up again.

After my mini nap, I was wide awake and sitting up on my bed in a room full of medical supplies and dull bland white walls. I went on to look to my right and I saw my baby boy, Kai, sleeping in his provided basketnet. 

Kai began to stare in his sleep and it looked like he was uncomfortable. I only can guess why, I went on to sit up on the edge of the bed to check on him. Lucky for me the basketnet had wheels and I can pull him towards me without having to mess with my stitches on my abdomen. Things are looking like Kai needs a diaper change because I can smell his poop.
