Chapter 47: Reunion of Leon and Annie 

Rudy POV

Finnick’s promotion broadcast was heartbreaking and very well received. Everyone began to understand that Finnick and I weren’t really allies or friends with the capitol. They understood it was a job to keep our loved ones safe and keep us sane. We had our own goals to achieve. They all know we had someone to protect with our lies.

During his broadcast, a rescue mission was going on behind the scenes. I later found out along with Finnick from Haymitch that the rescue was successful. Annie, Peeta, Johanna, and others were successfully recovered and on their way back to district 13. 

Peeta and Johanna are severely injured. Annie was fine, but She looked like she had lost it and went insane. Her experience was not good for her mental health that was already hanging off of a cliff to insanity. However, what matter the most is that she is safe now and my brother, Leon, looked happy at the new that he will finally see Annie again. It looks like the Wolfstein family is going to have a new member added and introduced to the family.

Finnick being the sweetheart that he is asked the viper Coin if we can hold a wedding ceremony for both Leon and Annie. Coin ended up agreeing for the wedding to occur, but Finnick would have to help out Katniss with a very few missions. That was fine and it is a price to pay in making a deal with a snake. The wedding won’t be until Annie recovers a bit from her ordeal.

Finnick’s missions that he will go on were going to be rough, but he will survive them all.

As months went by, Finnick went on missions here and there. Finnick will come home tired and over exhausted. Finnick was fighting a fight for a good cause even though I worry and miss him. If I have to say how Finnick is looking currently, then I would say he looks tired and needs sleep. 

Every time Finnick leaves the district to do something possibly dangerous has me worrying and thinking about him constantly. I miss him every minute that he is gone. Even Caspian misses his daddy as well.

Before I knew it, I was now 5 and a half months pregnant when Finnick had a long hiatus break from any missions. During this time period, Annie was healthy and sane enough for a wedding between her and my brother to occur. The ceremony was similar to what had occurred in the movies because there are limited supplies for decorations and stuff down here in district 13. At the end of the day, It might have been the same, but they both made their wedding their own.

On another note, at least she is not marrying my man, but my brother. Annie and I might have not gotten along at first and we are not that close too. However, we are family now, so I try to care for her a bit. Nah, I’m still salty and petty to hold a grudge for a few days. Nevertheless, I know I will come to care for her like my other family members with time. Annie is a Wolfstein now after all. Wolfsteins’ stick together as a pack and family is important to us. Now, thinking about it, Annie and Leon’s reunion was sweet.

The reunion of Annie and Leon was a heart wrenching sight to behold. Leon ended up running towards Annie as he saw her for the first time in a very long time. Leon was practically screaming and demanding to see her when he heard the news of their successful rescue.

Once they both saw each other, Annie ended up running toward Leon’s open arms as they started to hug one another. They both had a breakdown from the relief of being a part and seeing each other again. These two love birds were back together once again. I could tell by looking at Leon’s body language and face that he won’t be letting Annie anytime soon. Nothing is going to stand in his way in protecting her from here on out.

It is about time that my brother found someone to love and get married too. It will probably stop my father’s teasing of him of the fact that is still single. Afterall, Leon’s dating life has not gone so well due to his many girlfriends that he had throughout the years. It is about time he settles down. Good job, Leon! Also in my own head, I thank him for keeping her away from my man and husband.
