Things are changing all around us. Time is a constant motion and there is no stopping it anytime soon. Secrets are being revealed and people are seeing the true colors of the capitol for who they really are. The time for their reign of power is coming to an end pretty soon. Before I go into the accounts where quad 451 enter the last battle of the capitol and make their way towards Snow. I will recount the happenings before the fateful mission due to Peeta being hijacked and brainwashed into doing something he does not have control during the venture into the capitol.
During Peeta's time in the capitol, he had been used and witnessed a lot of horrible stuff. Peeta was tortured alongside Johanna, Annie, and Enobaria. (Gloss should have survived instead of her because Gloss is one fine sexy man along the actor who plays him Alan Ritchson. So, He is hot. lol!)

President Snow wanted information about the rebellion and anyone who was connected to the groups that are orchestrating the rebellion to overmind the capitol’s power and word. However, President Snow lets Enobaria off easily due to her being from the most loyal district and he alo fully trusted her judgment and character. After that, Snow held interrogations and during those interrogations he would have the avoxes, Lavina and Darius electrocuted to death. He also went on to execute Portia and the other stylists and prep teams. Among those people, were also Lily and Charmie that were executed alongside their people.
Snow did all this not for answers or information about the rebels; but he did all this to crack Peeta spirit and moral. He did all these things in front of him to achieve his only goal in finding Katniss and breaking her. This is around the time that Snow had Johanna’s head shorn and tortured as well. At the end of the day, President Snow wanted to keep Peeta as healthy looking a he could so he can use him to break Katniss and taunt her. To go even further, President Snow even visited district 12 to leave a white rose in Katniss’s home for her to find. It also let Katniss know that “I can find you. I can reach you. Perhaps I am watching you now.”
Peeta’s time in the capitol led him to be used for interviews with Caesar Flickerman so Katniss can see Peeta with her own two eyes. Peeta went on to do two more interviews for the capitol in the form of propaganda and to extinguish the flames of the rebellion along with the people supporting Katniss.
On Peeta’ s third interview, President Snow made an appearance on screen and went on to introduce Peeta and Caesar to try to play mind games. When Peeta's interview began, he began to talk. Peeta let some information out along with a warning for the rebels. Peeta went on to imply there will be an attack from the capitol on district 13 pretty soon. This angered president snow and Peeta went on to suffer the consequences in defying him.
President Snow orders the interview to be stopped and for Peeta to be taken away. On his orders, Snow had Peeta hijacked in order to be used as a tool against Katniss.
During Katniss and Finnick’s promotional live broadcast that was used as a distraction for a rescue mission, Finnick went on to reveal Snow’s darkest and well kept secrets. Along with those secrets he also mentions some capitol citizens secrets as well. President Snow was enraged by this and became angry at them even more than before. President Snow still plans on killing Katniss by using a brainwashed Peeta to do so.
Boggs later reveals that retrieving Peeta from the capitol hands was far too easy and he suspects that President Snow let the team take Peeta without a fight. It was Snow’s only chance to let Peeta near her so he can kill her.
With Peeta back in district 13 in safe hands, Katniss went on to receive the news that Peeta had been hijacked. Katniss listens to these claims and words and she went on to handle them in her own way. She learns as this from Deily Cartwright. At this time, Katniss wanted to be away from Peeta and she wanted to go on ahead to kill President Snow. She wanted his head on a silver platter. However, Plutarch convinces her otherwise. He told her she can’t until all the districts are on the rebels' side of the war.
Thi leads to the taking of district 2. District 2 is the only district still with the capitol because district 2 and the capitol have a close relationship with each other. District 2 are the ones who supply the capitol with peacekeepers and stone in which the capitol pays a lot in return for these goods. District 2 is the wealthiest district compared to other districts, which leads to Katniss asking to be sent there with others on her team. While in district 2, Katniss and the others tried to figure out how to attack and how to gain control of the nut. They all were successful in doing so.
Things went on to lead up to the battle of the Capitol. The rebels went on to take control of all the districts and began there assault on the capitol itself. Katniss took part in this as well. However, the assault on a “safe” capitol goes very wrong.
Katniss along with her team, squad 451, went on to flee further into the capitol with the intent of finding and killing President Snow. During this time, Peeta was till hijacked and brainwashed. He was driven to kill Katniss, but he went on to fight the pull in wanting to do so. He fought off the hijacking by remembering the memories of Katniss and the love he has for her. Peeta wanted to die for even thinking of trying to kill Katniss, but Katniss went on to stay by him and comfort him. Things in their relationship began to evolve and became deeper than ever before.
The squad went on to go further into the capitol dressed as capitol’s citizens. Things did not go to plan and most of the lives in the squad had been lost. Besides a few member left to continue on their mission for President Snow. The remaining squad members went on to still be faced by the white lizard mutts that Finnick had warned them about. Things went on to go completely different in that Katniss went on to kill them all with the nightlock that Boggs gave her before his death. She blew up every single mutt sky high into oblivion.
At the same time, President Snow goes on live television to discuss the death of squad 451, He went on to broadcast and to brag. However he was cut off short by Beetee. Beetee went on to hack into the systems of the capitols television network to air the rebels filmed propos.
President Snow’s forces went on to discover the remains of Boggs in an apartment of a capitol citizen. President Snow then realizes he has been fooled by Katniss and her squad members. President Snow figures out that Katniss is till alive which prompts him to send the white lizard-human mutts to hunt her down along with the others with her.
During the final battle of the war, President Snow was in his mansion and taking in Capitol children whom he was planning on using as human shields. Later on, he was planning on calling for an official surrender, but before he could, explosions occurred all around them.
Before the explosions, Katniss ended up separating from her squad members while she pressed on alone towards Snow. She finally reaches President Snow’s mansion which has been supposedly opened to shelter Capitol children. However, before she could reach and kill Snow, bombs were going off all around her due to the bombs being placed in the supply package parachutes. These bombs went on to kill many of the capitol children, the rebels soldiers, the rebels’ medical teams, and her little sister Prim.
