Chapter 49: Remembering and talking (smut)

Rudy POV

Three weeks went by, after Annie and Leon’s wedding day. I am now 6 months pregnant and I was ready to pop any day now. During this time period, Finnick has been with squad 451 or also known as the “star squad”. Another name for the group would be the sharp shooters. Their formation as a squad was due to their mission to assassinate President Snow by traversing through the pod- ridden Capitol. The second most important thing that all did was film and shoot propos for the rebels. The films were made to encourage others to join the fight.

The 451 squad consisted of Katniss Everdeen, Gale Hawthrone, Finnick Odair, Jackon, Boggs, Homes, Leeg 1, Leeg 2, Mitchell, and later, Peeta Mellark. Peeta did not join earlier due to his issues with his mind and due to his stay in the capitol.

The 451 squad also consisted of a camera crew that accompanied Katniss everywhere she went. So along with 10 soldiers came Cresida, a film director, Messalla, assistant director, Pollux, a cameraman, and Castor, another cameraman. 

I would have joined Finnick, but I wouldn’t have been much help when I have swollen feet and a big baby bump.. I couldn’t even see my toes over my big baby bump.

Outside the walls of district 13, a civil war was ongoing. The uprising against the capitol was going well, but there were major casualties like any other war. Battles were being fought and people were dying left to right. Fights for territory and bases were ongoing as well. Anyone can imagine what was going on. Things seemed like all hell had broken loose from its depth and made it to the surface.

While people were fighting, Finnick and his squad members were filming promotions in different areas and different districts. At times they will meet with danger and they have to fight their way out to make it back to safety. Other times they face traps and other times their outings are somewhat peaceful beside having to be filmed.

Finnick would always arrive back to district 13 looking exhausted. It seemed like he would fall over at any moment to get some sleep alongside the others. They have seen some things that no one should see. On the other hand, they are being overworked and being sucked of their life energy to applease Coin.

While other soldiers fought in a blood filled field, they were filming to gather more pawns for Coin. The films were mostly focused on the fact that this rebellion is for the people and the cause is for freedom from the oppression of the capital. Everything is for the right to live.You can compare the fighting as a fight for human rights. This war is bringing people together. Everyone is seeing the truth about the capitol. This war is bringing districts together as a united front for a single cause. History was in the making. Change is near and a new future will be created for the country of Panem.

Days went by, as things became more hectic. What would you expect from a war after all? I was in my quarters waiting for Finnick to be back alongside Capian. It had been a long time since Finnick and squad 451 had gone out to film. However, I know their next outing will be the mission to transverse towards the capitol to assassinate Snow. So, I am waiting to discuss with Finnick some more about this mission. Also, I believe I forgot to tell him about Coin planning to bomb her own soldiers and the enemy with Pods of explosives. I should go on ahead to mention this, but at the end of the day, no one will believe Coin will do so because everyone has their heads far up his ass. The only people that will believe so is Finnick, my family, and maybe Katniss.  

While I was in my thoughts, I did not notice Finnick walking in through the doors to our quarters. When I heard the doors shut behind me, I was interrupted from my thoughts. I went on to look behind me and I saw Finnick. I went on to give up from the couch and walk towards him. Once I was close to him I gave him a kiss to his lips and a hug,
