Chapter 29: President Snow

Rudy POV

Once Finnick and I arrived at the place where we are going to stay for the night. We walked right into our suite and we both released our acts and took in a deep breath.

“That was horribly,” I said to Finnick.

“I know what you mean, my love,” said Finnick.

“I’m not looking forward to the coming years when we have to come to the capitol for parties and events. I barely could handle being around these people for just a night,” I said.

“I couldn’t agree with you more, my love. It’s just another price you pay for being a victor. At least, we have a way out of other obligations that are given to other victors,” said Finnick.

“You’re right about that, Finnick. I just don’t know how the others deal with being here and being used for these peoples’ benefit,” I said.

“So, do I , my love. I have to say I got lucky that I was younger and Snow is waiting till I am sixteen to do anything with me. 

“You don’t have to worry about that anymore, Finnick. Let’s just hope everything turns out just fine,” I said. 

We both sat on the couch in the living room in silence for a good long while. Wejust enjoyed being in each others presence.

“Finnick, I love you. Thank you for being by my side and supporting me throughout this time,” I said.

“I love you, too, my darling. I wouldn’t want to be anywhere else beside your side,” said Finnick.

Finnick pulled me onto his lap and into his warm embrace. He hugged me with his strong arms as I lay my head on his shoulder. He grabbed my face with hands to move my head to look at him. He pulled me in for a kiss. The kiss was romantic and became heated. We would have gone further but a loud knock bang on the front door of our suite. 

Finnick groaned in disappointment and I just laughed at him. I got up from Finnick’s lap and walked towards the door to open it. Finnick was right behind to check who it was. The person that lied behind the door was a peacekeeper. He said,” Mr. Wolfstien, I’m here to escort you to President Snow due to his orders in wanting to meet you. He said he would like some words with you.”

As I heard these words I knew what was to come. President Snow wants to talk, but it’s more like want to make demands and control me. However, I knew this was my chance to get Finnick’s and my own freedom; and a life from being used. 

“Yes. I will go. Can I say good-bye first?,” I said with a shaky voice.

“You have a minute. I am waiting outside the door,” said the peacekeeper.

“Okay.”

I turned to look at Finnick. He had a shocked and nervous expression on his face. I walked to him and gave him a big hug. “I’m going to be fine, Finnick. I will be right back before you know it,” I said.

“Stay safe, my love. Also, be careful and be aware around that snake of a man,” said Finnick.

“I will,” I said.

“I love you with all my heart, Rudy! I believe in you my love. So come back soon. I also want to finish what we started before we were interrupted,” said Finnick while his forehead was on my own during a little hug.

“I love you, too, Finnick. I will be back so don’t worry too much. Keep the bed warm for me because I also want to finish what we started,” I said. Finnick gave me a smile and leaned in to give me a kiss good-bye.
