Chapter 51: Meeting Up with Family

Finnick POV

As I watched, my love fell asleep to get some rest after the labor and delivery of our son Kai. I went on to stare at my newborn who was still in my arms. Kai is so beautiful and will grow up to be a handsome boy like Caspian will. I just feel the exact same way I felt when I first held Caspian in my arms for the first time ever. I held Kai in my arms for a good long while.

It was time for me to leave reluctantly. As Kai was fast asleep in my arms after feeding. I went on to set him down in his basket that was right by Rudy. He will be resting and sleeping right beside his papa. Before leaving them for a bit I went on to give both of them a last kiss then out of the medical wing I left.

My first stop was to notify my in-laws and Caspian of a successful birth of the new member of our family. When Rudy and I first told Caspian about him being an older brother, he was so excited. I could not wait to see his face when he meet his little brother for the first time. However, that meeting has to wait for a little bit after my meeting up with the members of my squad.I do have to explain why I am late and not going on the mission as well.

During my walk towards my family’s quarters, I got to thinking on how I was going to explain things. As for things, I just decided to go with the flow of things and see how things turn out.

While thinking as I walked, I did not realize that I had finally returned back to the front door to my quarters. Once I walked in through the door, I saw my in-laws with Caspian sitting in the living room. It seems Caspian woke up early today and was worried about his papa and his little sibling. 

“How’s Rudy and the baby,” asked Melinda.

I went on to give her a smile and said,” that are both doing fine and both are resting currently.”

“That’s good to hear,” said Christopher. Leon and Melinda just nodded their heads in response and were happy to hear the news that they were both healthy and fine. 

“Daddy! Daddy! Do I have a little brother or a little sister,” asked CaspIan as he ran towards me and asked to be picked up.

“You have a new little brother, Caz. Are you ready to go meet him?,” I asked.

“Yay!!!,” yelled Caspian in excitement.

“I want to go see Papa and meet my little brother,” said Caspian.

“We will go see them after a meeting I have to attend first then we can go buddy. Then I can take your grandparents, uncle, and you to go see you papa and brother,” I said.

“Aww… I want to go now,” whined Caspian.

“I know buddy, but I have to go to the meeting first. Also, your papa and your little brother are sleeping right now so we'll go when they are awake. We will spend however long you want with your papa and little brother when we go, oaky,” I said.

“Okay, Daddy,” said Caspian.

“Now, how about you go play with your uncle Leon for a bit. I’m going to talk with your grandparents for a bit,” I said.

“Alright, Daddy. I will wait.,” said Caspian.

“Come on, you little rugrat. Let's go play with your stuffed animals while your daddy talks with grandma and grandpa,” said Leon playfully. Before he left the room, Leon nodded his head at me as a good-bye for now.

“I’m not a rugrat,” whined Capian.

“See you later, Dady,” said Caspian as he walked to go play with his uncle in another room.

“So why won’t you be able to take us to go see Rudy and the newborn baby? Besides him needing rest and recovering energy,” asked Melinda. By Melinda's side, Christopher was nodding his head in agreement with his wife.

“Before everything, I had a mission to go on today that was going to be a dangerous one on Coin’s orders. However, now the mission is a bust for me to go on because I am late for our planned meeting time,” I said. I am currently late in meeting up with Katniss and the others. I was about an hour late or less.

“Well that’s not good,” said Melinda.

“Yeah,” I said in response.

“You better get going then noy. You don’t want to keep them waiting and we don’t want to keep you holding up any longer. Just come right back after you explain things to your squad members. We will be waiting for your return back here happily so we can go see my little prince and our new grandson,” said Christopher.

“Don’t worry, I will be quick. I believe they will be able to do the mission without me. Plus, I have information that they need before they get the chance to leave. Anyways, I am going now then. I will see you guys soon. Bye for now,” I said.

As I walked out of the living room to the exit doors, I heard everyones’ good-byes behind me including Leon and Caspian’s good-byes.

A/n: Another short chapter again. I am currently working on the last few chapters so wish me luck. I say there is only about five more chapters left before thi fanifiction is complete.
