Chapter 57: Wrapping Up Loose Ends

Rudy POV

The very next morning, Finnick and I got up and went on to get ready for the day. All we did was give each other a good morning kiss then we head off to take a shower and do our normal morning routine. We did all this before Kai and Caspian woke up from their slumber. After all this, Finnick helped me walk towards the living room, so I could sit on the couch to watch some t.v. While I watch some television, Finnick would be making us some breakfast. However, before he did so, Finnick rolled Kai into the living room in his basketnet so I could watch him and have Kai right beside me as he went to do his best to cook us some breakfast. 

After waiting a while in the living room, Caspian came into the room after waking himself up.

“Good morning, Caspian,” I said to my first born son. 

“Good morning, papa, Kai,” said Caspian in a sleepy voice.

“Come here and sit with me, sweetheart. Your daddy is finishing up making us some breakfast for us. He will be done soon,” I said.

“Okay, papa,” said Caspian.

Caspian went on to walk towards and got on the couch with me. He snuggled into my side as we relaxed and watched t.v together. It is going to take Finnick some time for him to cook our breakfast because he is not the best or fastest cook in the world. I’m the one who usually cooks for all of us. Nevertheless, I am grateful that Finnick is willing to try and help out where he can while I am still recovering.

Our time waiting wa full of us watching some cartoon reruns. Our quite time together was interpreted by Kai waking up. Kai was in need of a change of a diaper and his morning bottle. I went on ahead to do both those things. The process was easy because Finnick had set up the supplies for me and had a bottle pre-made for Kai. After Kai was finished with his bottle I went on to burp him by patting on his back softly. While I did so, Finnick came into the living room from the kitchen.

“My love, breakfast is ready. Oh, Caspian you are awake my little shark. Good morning to you buddy,” said Finnick.

“Good morning, daddy,” said Caspian in return.

“Come on you three, let's go eat some homemade pancakes that I made for us,” said Finnick. Caspian got up immediately off the couch and ran towards the dining room so he can eat his favorite breakfast food. Finnick went on to help me up and walked with me towards the dining table as he carried Kai in one of his arms. We all went on to eat together as a small family. My parents, Leon, and Annie probably went out earlier than us to go eat at the mess hall. Our breakfast time was peaceful and it was a very enjoyable time to spend with my boys.

After a short half an hour, we all got done eating, which all headed back into the living room. While back on the couch, Finnick cleaned up our mess, while I watched Caspian play with his stuffed animal plushies on the floor. On the other hand, Little Kai was down for a nap in his basketnet. Babies do like their sleep a lot. All they could do is sleep, eat, poop, pee, and cry. I took this time to rest on the couch and to just relax to the sound of the t.v playing. When Finnick got done cleaning, he came to sit by my side as we snuggled together as we watched the t.v with one another. However, without warning, the t.v blurred out of the picture and switched to a live broadcast that seemed to be coming straight from the capitol.

“Finnick, Look. It looks like we are going to get some answers and what we wished for,” I whispered to him.

“You were definitely right, my love. It looks like this thing is about to start,” said Finnick.
