Chapter Twenty-One

If this is love, baby I want out.

"Are you alright A.J.?" Mum asked as I sat down at the table. I probably looked like absolute shit, which wasn't too far off of how I felt. I couldn't tell you what time I finally fell asleep, but it felt like I had only gotten a few minutes before Audrey came bursting into my room.

"I'm fine." I mumbled, already placing my head on the kitchen table and closing my eyes.

"You look exhausted... Are you sure you're up for the doctors today?" Mum's voice was filled with nothing but concern, but right now all I wanted was for a few quiet minutes before Aiden and Jaiden came running into the room.

"I'm fine Mum. Really I am." i said, hoping that he'd just leave it alone after that. Mum didn't say anything else, so I guess it was safe to say it worked. A minute passed before I finally sat up again, leaning against the back of my chair as I did so. Jaiden and Aiden came running in at that moment, nearly tripping over each other as they ran. Mum shook his head as he gave a quiet "stop running".

Dad came in with them, helping Jonah into the kitchen although you could tell by the expression on Jo's face that he hadn't asked for it. Mum and Dad always babied Jo, but I couldn't really blame them. Jonah looked like someone who needed help, therefore you couldn't just leave him alone.

"Morning Jo." I said, smiling at him as he sat down next to me. He gave a small smile back, even though it was more directed towards the wall then towards me.

"Morning A.J., are you alright? You sound sick." I grimaced at that... even my blind brother knew something was up.

And I didn't feel like talking about it.

"Just tired." I said, not wanting it to come out as irritated as it did.

"Sorry I asked. I swear you're more moody than Jem when she's on her pe-"

"What about me?" Jemma walked in, effectively cutting Jonah off mid sentence.

"You look rather lovely today." Jonah said, grinning at his own joke. It was safe to say that Jonah was more like Dad than any of us.

"Thanks. Chris bought me this." Jemma smiled brightly, seemingly oblivious to the fact that Jonah was the one who complimented her as she twirled around in her floral print dress.

"Who's Chris?" Dad and I both asked, arching our eyebrows at Jemma. Jemma looks panic stricken for a second, her hand instantly going up to her neck. I remembered she had come into the house last night with a scarf... I noticed how the skin around her hand was a lot lighter than her normal tone...

Cover-up only works miracles if you know how to use it...

"He's just a friend of mine..." She said slowly, still looking at Dad and I hesitantly. I gave her a "don't pull that shit" look, mainly due to the fact that I had done the same thing with Oliver for the first two months of our relationship. We hadn't wanted either of our parents knowing... so we snuck around and honestly we did a great job... until we got caught making out in the driveway by my dad... it was a very embarrassing experience that I wouldn't wish on anyone.

Not even Jemma.

"Never heard of him." Dad said, shrugging before kissing Mum on his cheek. He sat down after that, arching his eyebrows yet again when he looked at me.

"You look like shit." Dad says, not even bothering to censor himself.

No surprise there.

"Dad, swear jar." I said sarcastically, already knowing full well he wasn't going to pay it up. He had stopped doing that just a little after Aiden and
Jaiden were born... the reason being somewhere along the lines of "there isn't enough money in this world" or something like that.

"Harry..."

"I'm just saying. He looks like a member of the walking dead or something." Dad shrugs, obviously not caring if I was offended or not. I honestly wasn't, in fact I was a little amused. Mum rolled his eyes, but he still looked at Dad with a fond smile. It only lasted for a minute before he looked at me.

"Your appointment is in an hour... So I suggest you get ready." Mum says, smiling at me softly as I nodded. I got up from the table and walked up to my room. I rolled my eyes as I saw my phone light up across the room, I already knew who it was and he honestly was the last person I felt like talking to right now.

He was a dick and I wasn't going to forgive him so easily.

I walked over to my closet before pulling out a fresh shirt and a pair of jeans. I stood in front of my closet mirror, facing it sideways and examined my stomach. It was flat, nothing had really changed. You wouldn't even know I was pregnant unless I told you.

I couldn't help but wonder how much my life was going to change in the next couple months...

And I couldn't help but wonder if Oliver was even going to be around to help me through it.

At the rate we're going, the future wasn't looking too bright.
